Its time to hang up my mug and say goodbye to childminding after 31 years 🥹. As of yesterday I'm officially retired! What an emotional day 🥹. My parents well and truly spoiled me with lots of lovely gifts and cards at pick up time. There were many tears and I will miss my little ones but will also be proud that I was part of their early life and helped to nurture them. It was so lovely to see 2 ex mindees yesterday too who are now both bigger than me! Thank you to you all 😊

Heading towards my retirement after 31 years of childminding and 80 + children, I watched my last 3 mindees add their little fingerprints to my leavers tree 😢. I have had the best children and families and I hope they keep in touch 😊. It's always good to hear how my ex mindees are getting on so congratulations to one of my ex mindees on gaining a 1st in their university degree 🎉 and good luck to another awaiting his GCSE results! 🎉

We went to our fantastic free museums this week ☺️. We had a great time seeing skeletons, pottery, an old boat, a ride in an old car and carriage and we laughed with the Laughing Policeman. We had a picnic in the museum gardens and fed the fish ☺️

Day 30 of and what a hot one it was 🥵. The children picked raspberries and the last strawberries. We found a little caterpillar already trying the raspberries! 🐛. Water play cooled the children down a bit then this afternoon we watched some wildlife webcams. The children watched osprey chicks eating a fish their parent had brought and some kittiwakes and chicks. Before home time we did a senses scavenger hunt 😊

Day 24 of . We've had a mixed day today. Outside in the rain the children watched a harlequin ladybird (I think), then as the rain stopped we saw hoverflies and bees. We had our lunch outside and watched the clouds changing from dark and grey to white in a blue sky ☺️

Day 23 of . Today we harvested our potatoes! The children enjoyed rummaging through the compost. We had 3 varieties and found a few insects in the potato bags too! The children played in the empty compost with diggers after we had removed all the potatoes. We also watched bees and hoverflies on the garden flowers☺️

Day 17 of . After a visit to the Ferens Art Gallery this morning to see their exhibition we went to choose a plant or two at . The children had lots to choose from and kept changing their minds but in the end they both chose a Biden. We also got a Venus Flytrap and they were excited to see it in action! Back here they planted the bidens and watered them. We found a ladybird pupa on the compost table, but it might have been empty then found a green spider had made a web on one of the scooters!
