New Cybersecurity Undergraduate Degrees at the University of Hull
We’re excited to introduce a new family of cybersecurity degree programmes designed to help address the global shortage of security experts. We’re looking for the next generation of *future‑makers* — people ready to build the skills needed to protect the critical systems our society depends on.
In our new BSc Computer Science and Cybersecurity, students develop core programming skills alongside AI, threat detection, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and wider computing foundations.

We are pleased to announce that two students from Computer Science have been successful in the British Computer Society’s e-learning annual Student and Open competition. The theme this year was on “AI for Health Improvement and Education”.
Eirika Doe won 2nd Prize (Silver) with a proposal for lifelong personalised learning with an education AI companion, adapting the teaching method or a tailored experience.
George Acklam won 3rd Prize (Bronze) with the concept of an AI based personalised assistant to promote healthy and active lifestyles supporting teachers in delivering specialist content.

Cyber Switch Up is back and students across our region are invited to take part in this exciting digital skills challenge.
Aimed at young people between the ages of 11 and 18, the competition is designed by cyber policing experts to inspire interest in cyber security and digital careers. It’s part of a national initiative to help students develop key skills while promoting safe and lawful online behaviour.
Participants will have the chance to:
