🎸 Rock Steady Rocked FAPS! 🎸

What an incredible day we had welcoming Rock Steady Music School to Francis Askew! The children absolutely loved the assembly, and it was fantastic to see so many of them getting involved, trying instruments, singing their hearts out and experiencing what it feels like to perform in a real band.

The energy in the hall was amazing and, as you’ll see from the photos and videos coming up, our children certainly rocked out! 🤘🎤🎸🥁

A huge thank you to the families who have already signed their children up following today’s visit (QR code on the leaflet your child brought home). We know they are going to have a fantastic experience developing their confidence, teamwork and musical skills.

Rock Steady lessons will take place every Wednesday afternoon at FAPS from September.

We are passionate about ensuring that opportunities like this are accessible to all children. To support this, the school will be offering a small number of subsidised places for pupils who are eligible for Free School Meals. These places will be limited and allocated fairly to help ensure that financial circumstances are not a barrier to participation. Please email [email protected] if you would like your child to participate and they are in receipt of free school meals. ☺️

Children may come to school wearing their PE kits on Sports Day.

Please ensure they are dressed in a plain white T‑shirt, black shorts, and they may also wear a sun hat.

KS1 sports day is the same day as our Autistic Pride day, your child is more than welcome to wear coloured socks/ coloured sun hat/ bobbles to join in and celebrate! 🌈

We also recommend applying sun cream before school. We will ensure they have plenty of water throughout each afternoon.

Thank you for your support in helping the children enjoy a safe and successful Sports Day.

🌞 A Visit from Emma Hardy MP 🌞

Today we were delighted to welcome Emma Hardy MP to Francis Askew Primary School to hear about our newly installed solar panels.

During her visit, Emma met with our fantastic Eco Club, who proudly shared how they are helping to make our school more environmentally friendly. The children spoke confidently about sustainability, energy saving and the positive changes they are leading across the school. We were incredibly proud of how they represented Francis Askew and demonstrated their passion for protecting our planet.

Our new solar panels are already having a positive impact, helping us reduce energy costs and allowing us to invest more resources back into supporting our pupils’ learning and experiences.

A huge thank you to Emma Hardy MP for taking the time to visit us and hear about the exciting work our children are doing. We look forward to continuing our journey towards a greener and more sustainable future.
