A huge thank you to everyone involved in transforming our woodland area this week! 🌳💚

We are incredibly grateful to TCV Hull and Humber - The Conservation Volunteers, and all of the fantastic volunteers and staff who have given their time, energy and expertise to create such a wonderful outdoor space for our children.

The difference is incredible. New paths, a dedicated outdoor learning area, improved access and a healthier woodland will provide endless opportunities for exploration, learning and discovery. Knowing that the work has also enhanced the habitat for local wildlife makes it even more special.💚

We can’t wait to welcome our children back in September and see their faces as they explore their transformed woodland for the first time! It will become a place where curiosity grows and memories are made.

Thank you for helping us make a positive difference for our children and our community. 🌿🍃 OPAL Outdoor Play and Learning CIC

What a way to end our year! 🌟

Yesterday we celebrated our annual End of Year Awards, and what a wonderful morning it was.

These awards are about so much more than achievement. They celebrate resilience, kindness, determination, courage, progress, friendship and the way our children live our REACH values every single day.

Watching our children walk across the stage, cheered on by their friends, families and staff, was such a proud moment. Every award tells a story of hard work, growth and the difference that each child makes to our Francis Askew family.💙

To all of our award winners – congratulations. We are so proud of you.🏆

And to every child in our school, thank you for making this year so special. You have made us laugh, made us proud and reminded us every day just how lucky we are to have you all.

Here’s to a well-deserved summer and all the exciting adventures still to come.

Stay safe, have fun and we’ll see you in September FAPS Fam 💙✨

She has cared for generations of children and has been a familiar face to staff, pupils and parents alike.

Michelle, thank you for everything you have given to our school over the last 28 years. Your hard work, kindness and dedication have made a lasting difference, and you will be missed more than you know.

From all of us at Francis Askew, we wish you a long, happy and well-deserved retirement. Enjoy every minute – you’ve certainly earned it! 💐💙

“Just take my hand and we’ll lift from this land,
Let us fly away, let us fly away.
Adventures await, there’s no reason to wait,
We will soon be there, we will soon be there.

It’s the stars we’re chasing,
As the moon goes racing by,
Just believe and you will fly.

Higher and higher we’ll go,
On through the wind and the snow,
Over the rooftops and buildings, we’ll go.
Higher and higher we’ll go,
Higher and higher we’ll go,
Higher and higher and higher we’ll go.

Reach for the sky when you’re learning to fly,
Or you’ll never soar, you will never soar.
Just take my hand and we’ll lift from this land,
Let us fly away, let us fly away.”

💙💙💙

✨ A Night to Remember… Year 6 Prom 2026 ✨
What a wonderful evening celebrating our incredible Year 6 children at their prom. 💙

They all looked absolutely amazing and it was so special to see them laughing, dancing, celebrating and making memories together before they begin their next adventure.

We are so proud of each and every one of them - not just for tonight, but for the kind, resilient and caring young people they have become during their time at Francis Askew.

A huge thank you to all of the staff who gave up their evening to make tonight so special.

Extra special thanks to our parents and families for all of your donations, prom creations and money raised through the colour run - you have made sure your children had the BEST send off tonight.🥰

Year 6, we hope you’ve had the most magical evening. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll go on to achieve.
