DFN Project Search Hull

Interns from DFN Project SEARCH Hull Asda and CHCP have been undertaking induction activities throughout the summer in preparation for the start of their respective internships in September. The two programs have joined together to enjoy some fun icebreaker activities, getting to know each other and their facilitators and job coaches who will be working with them to help develop employability skills.
Interns enjoyed meeting managers and mentors at CHCP the Beacon in preparation for their internships within the CHCP. Asda interns have had an induction of the store at Asda Mount Pleasant, where they met the store manager and will be receiving their uniforms ready to start their placement in store.

Interns from DFN Project SEARCH Hull Asda and CHCP celebrated the end of their internship with family, friends and colleagues. Everyone enjoyed the celebration at Wilberforce Sixth Form College which included refreshments, speeches from interns, parents, business partners from Asda and CHCP. All Interns received a certificate of completion, to recognise their hard work in their host businesses. Our interns are now seeking paid employment, taking with them all the transferable skills they have gained during their internship. We wish our interns every success in the future and will continue to support them in their next step job searching. A big thank you to everyone at Asda and CHCP for your dedication and support.

Interns at DFN Project SEARCH Hull – Asda Mount Pleasant enjoyed a trip out to the Mini Golf at St Stephens, followed by a well-earned meal, to celebrate the end of the program. The interns at Asda have formed friendships while on the course and enjoyed spending time together. Our Interns are now looking forward to their graduation when friends and family will come together to celebrate the success of the young people completing their internship at Asda Mount Pleasant.

Remember that the 13th of July is enrolment for the 2026/27 cohort of DFN Project SEARCH interns at Asda and CHCP at Wilberforce College. Start getting your necessary documentation prepared and ensure you know your time slot. We look forward to seeing you there!

This month’s intern of the month for DFN Project SEARCH – CHCP is Ellie! Ellie has recently taken on feedback to work on her initiative and prioritization of tasks, as well as scoring well in her recent Mock interview trial. Ellie is looking at her options as she moves into paid employment, and we wish her the best of luck with her next steps.

We are pleased to announce Alex as our intern of the month for DFN Project SEARCH – Asda. Alex has been an asset to the Asda team throughout his time at Asda Mount Pleasant, always demonstrating a positive attitude and arriving to work every day with a smile on his face. Alex has always shown great flexibility and good team working skills on the shop floor and in the training room. We wish Alex the best of luck as he now starts his new journey into paid employment

All our interns on DFN Project SEARCH – Asda Mount Pleasant attended mock interviews today with the Asda team. The interns have been working hard on their interview skills and practising possible questions. As the programme is coming to an end very shortly, all of our interns are actively seeking employment, and interview practice is a great benefit to them.
