Interns from DFN Project SEARCH Hull Asda enjoyed an informative visit from Tracey Hammett, an Automatic/Adapted driving Instructor. Tracey gave our interns great advice on finding driving lessons, adapting for their theory exam, and safe driving tips. Thank you, Tracey, for your time and expertise. Interns are based in different areas, including ambient, the bread section, George clothing, self-scan and Home and Leisure. Busy day today, big shout out to the newest interns at Asda Mount Pleasant Hull today, we had a great road safety chat covering theory, scammer instructors and what to look out for. Interns at DFN Project SEARCH Hull Asda have completed their induction period and are now ready to move onto the shop floor in their various job roles. Jacqueline Melia, Store Manager of Asda, and the team are ready to teach the interns the ropes of working in the store and gaining employability skills for future employment.

As part of the induction process, interns learned about road safety and transportation from one of our regular visitors to the training room, Mark Coulthard from Humberside Fire and Rescue Service. Interns enjoyed an informative and interactive training session

🚨 Are you interested in DFN Project SEARCH Hull’s Supported Internship programme but would like to find out more information? Join us at Wilberforce College’s Open Day on Wednesday 14th October, 16:30 – 19:00 and find out about our programme.

A member of the DFN Project SEARCH CHCP and ASDA team will meet with you to go through what to expect of the programme, the support we provide and answer any of your questions.

Interns from DFN Project SEARCH Hull Asda have been working hard starting their three-week induction period in the training room. The induction will include Health and Safety, Customer Service in preparation to working on the shop floor supported by our wonderful managers, team leaders, colleagues and full-time job club. Interns have all signed up for a yearlong internship with Asda where they will be trained in different areas on the shop floor and experience a supported working environment in preparing of gaining future employment in their chose field of work.

Interns from DFN Project SEARCH Hull Asda and CHCP have been undertaking induction activities throughout the summer in preparation for the start of their respective internships in September. The two programs have joined together to enjoy some fun icebreaker activities, getting to know each other and their facilitators and job coaches who will be working with them to help develop employability skills.
Interns enjoyed meeting managers and mentors at CHCP the Beacon in preparation for their internships within the CHCP. Asda interns have had an induction of the store at Asda Mount Pleasant, where they met the store manager and will be receiving their uniforms ready to start their placement in store.

Interns from DFN Project SEARCH Hull Asda and CHCP celebrated the end of their internship with family, friends and colleagues. Everyone enjoyed the celebration at Wilberforce Sixth Form College which included refreshments, speeches from interns, parents, business partners from Asda and CHCP. All Interns received a certificate of completion, to recognise their hard work in their host businesses. Our interns are now seeking paid employment, taking with them all the transferable skills they have gained during their internship. We wish our interns every success in the future and will continue to support them in their next step job searching. A big thank you to everyone at Asda and CHCP for your dedication and support.
