Hull School of Art & Design - Photography

Some great architectural work from one of our FE students. They have been getting familiar with composition as well as some of the different post-production techniques that can be used.

We’re working on Photoshop and Lightroom at the moment and experimenting with split toning. This student used the technique to colour grade this image for the extra bit of pop.

We’re underway with our level 3 photography course. Students are producing some excellent work in response to a poem and have come on in leaps and bounds since September. We can’t wait to see what they’ll produce next!

It’s camera twiddling time. We’re all here getting the cameras cleaned, the lights oiled and the Mac’s powered up ready for a new year 🎉

A short trip to the Armoury

We took our students out to Bridlington last week for them to take some photos for their upcoming client brief. The weather was perfect and blew away any start of the year cobwebs.
All of the FE arts courses are involved in this project and so the seaside was a wonderful location to inspire everyone in different ways.
We can’t wait to see the work created. Keep your eyes peeled for what’s to come!

Back to our start of term shenanigans. It’s always a great time of year as we get to meet our new students and catch up with returning ones. Here our group of level 3 students are familiarising themselves with sticking Andy to a tree. A tradition we enjoy at the start of every academic year as we introduce the use of shutter speed to our fresh photography students.
