Teign School

Teign School Pride Through Success At Teign we believe it is our attention to students as individuals which ensures they leave as successful and confident young adults.

Teign Academy staff put student progress and achievement at the heart of all they do and students feel that they belong in an institution that sets high expectations. Each subject challenges students in an environment where we recognise and celebrate high achievement. Equally, we are confident in supporting all students by removing their barriers to learning to achieve these goals. Those expectati

ons are reflected in all members of the school and we are proud of the comprehensive nature of the community we serve. To achieve these aims, we work in a partnership with parents, schools, businesses, continuing to develop the widest range of opportunities for all our students. Combining these elements means that Teign School is not only a successful, but also a happy place to be. We can be assured that by fostering maturity, as well as achievement, students leave Teign as literate, numerate, active citizens of the future. Teign School Celebrates Strong GCSE Results for 2026

Students at Teign School are celebrating today (Thursday 20th August) after receiving their long-awaited GCSE results. Following months of preparation, hard work, and dedication, year 11 students collected their results with smiles, pride, and excitement for the future.

At Teign, they have seen another increase in outcomes this year and staff are delighted with the results that students have achieved. A quarter of the cohort achieved top grades (9-7) and more than half achieved a strong pass or above. The school has seen some truly spectacular individual performances from both students achieving top grades and those for whom hard work has secured them their next steps and opportunities.

Students also benefit from meaningful engagement with employers, universities, local organisations and public figures, including visits from MPs and industry professionals, helping them to develop ambition, leadership and a strong sense of citizenship.

Lucie Wagner, Head of School at Teign School said:
"Today is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our year 11 students and everything they have accomplished during their time at Teign School.
"We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. These grades are an important milestone, but they are only one part of their story. We know our students leave Teign School with the confidence, skills and ambition to flourish in the next stage of their education, training or employment.”

Matthew Shanks, CEO of Education South West said:
"Congratulations to every student receiving their GCSE results today. We know that behind every grade are years of hard work, supported by dedicated teachers, support staff and families who have encouraged young people every step of the way.

“These results represent far more than examination outcomes. They mark the beginning of exciting new opportunities, whether students are moving on to sixth form, college, apprenticeships or employment. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their education and careers."
