ONE YEAR OF WATERBORN HUB CIC!
We're blowing our own trumpet today... but just a little!
Today marks one year since Waterborn officially registered as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company!
Although our journey began back in 2011 as Kingsbridge Estuary Stand Up Paddlesurf (KESUP), becoming a CIC was an important step towards something we've always believed in: making the water accessible to everyone, regardless of their background, ability or circumstances.
And what a first year it's been!
From welcoming new faces onto the water and helping people build confidence, friendships and fitness, to delivering funded community projects, supporting young people, promoting water safety and bringing everyone together through events like SUP The Creek, it's been an incredibly rewarding twelve months.
We've seen first-time paddlers discover a new passion, young people develop their skills, and people of all ages find enjoyment, confidence and connection on our beautiful Estuary.
But none of this happens without the people around us.
To everyone who's joined us on the water, supported our projects, volunteered their time, worked alongside us, provided funding or simply helped spread the word — THANK YOU!
Our community has always been at the heart of Waterborn. Becoming a CIC has given us the opportunity to build on those foundations and create even more opportunities for people to benefit from being active outdoors.
One year down, and plenty more adventures ahead!
Here's to another year of making waves, building connections and creating opportunities for our community.
