Our children have missed out on so much this year already; a lost summer, missed birthdays and of course a long time away from school and friends. Our mission is to add a little sparkle to the darkness ✨

Inspired by Scandinavian countries, the idea is to put up lights of all sorts (fairy lights, lanterns, lamps, anything you have to hand) on November 1st until the clocks go forward in Spring.

Put them in your windows & doorsteps or outdoor spaces to brighten up the early darkness. Children can look out for the lights, and for lots of us it will be a sign of hope and of brighter days to come.

Let’s come together and ⭐️✨

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced the closure of Scotland's schools and local authority nurseries from Friday.

Graeme McAlister, Chief Executive, Scottish Childminding Association, said,

“We are aware of the First Minister’s announcement regarding schools and local authority nurseries in Scotland closing at the end of this week. Childminders are not being asked to close at this time and Ms Sturgeon noted the possible role which childminders and private nurseries might be asked to play in supporting the provision of emergency childcare for key workers. We have a scheduled call with the Scottish Government this afternoon and we will update childminders after this”.
