βΌοΈTodayβs Mini Classroom Experience continued with a focus on numbers.βΌοΈ
The children had great fun making numbers up to 10 with play-doh, picking a mystery number and matching it with the correct quantity of conkers and worked on their number formation!
All pupils had a great time and we cannot wait to see you all again next week πππ

πͺπΊβEUROQUIZ βπͺπΊ
We were so proud of this group of Primary 6 pupils yesterday as they took part in Euroquiz. Some of the subjects covered included languages, history, geography, culture and European affairs. They showcased their excellent, collective knowledge to represent our school.

Today and Mini Classroom Experience we sang β5 Little Ducksβ, made play dough ducks, finger puppets to take home and helped our toy duck hop along the number track!π€π¦ππ

P3, Mrs Thomson, Miss Bannister and Mr Hamilton had a lovely day out visiting Burnβs Cottage and museum! We learned lots about Robert Burnsβ life and how different things were in the past. We had great fun exploring and we even worked in teams to make some butter! ππ

Lots of fun was had at our World Book Day transition event! Big thanks to Miss Quinn for organising this aswell as organising our whole school events too!ππππ The children (and adults) had a great time exploring our book related activities and all children received a special World Book Day goodie bag at the end. Donβt worry, if you didnβt manage to attend, the bags have been saved for you and you can collect them at Mini Classroom tomorrowπππ
Does anyone have an old cat carrier/small animal carrier and or a 2 story rabbit hutch that they no longer need? We have two Guinea pigs in our Nurture Class so needing a bigger home for them and something to transport them in.πππ
Reminder that itβs World Book Day tomorrow!ππ Children and staff are invited to dress up if they wish.π
We also have our World Book Day transition event for our pre-school children at 1:45pm in our dinner hall. We look forward to seeing lots of you there.πππ

Week 4 if of our Mini Classroom Experience. πππ We sang number songs and did lots of counting activities. Our favourite activity was painting and making a picture of 5 Little Speckled Frogs!πΈ We also started using our task boards too- the children did a great job of working with these for the very first time!π

Week 3 of our Mini Classroom Experience really was super!π¦ΈββοΈ
Mr Gardiner read the children a story called βSupertatoβ. It was about a superhero and his vegetable friends. ππ
We had great fun making our own superhero capes and completing a numicon rocket puzzle!

Today, John and his team at Little Tree Landscapes very kindly came into the school and worked on our garden. They did this free of charge to help us out and they have done a fantastic job. We canβt wait to get back to work in the garden, preparing it all for spring and summer. Thank you so much John and the team!πΈπ»π³ππ

Week 2 of our Mini Classroom Experience for our pre-school children. They met more of their buddies and were introduced to our RRS mascot, Paddington Bear. We had lots of fun making our own Paddington and exploring more of the classroom. ππ

Our first βMini Classroom Experienceβ was a great success today. The children had great fun exploring the P1 playroom and loved meeting some of the staff and buddies for next year. Roll on next week for some more fun!πππ

Today, 8 of our P5-P7 children went to a netball event hosted by Shortlees PS. They had a fantastic time playing games with children from other schools.π We definitely have some future netball stars in the making! Well done, you represented our school so well today!ππ

Hot on the heels of our school show, P7 continued their excellence in performing with their Burns Assembly. Scottish poems were recited by all classes, there was an Address tae a Haggis, a lads and lassies toast and some fantastic singing by children and parents alike. This was all capped off by shortbread and Irn-bru for all (and even haggis for lunch!) Well done to all involved!ππ΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώππ

π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ ΏToday we had a Scottish Transition event for new P1 children starting in August.
We had a great time making tartan kilts using different kinds of transport and paint, creating stunning thistles using cut outs of our hands and wonderful unique versions of the Loch Ness Monster.
Everyone who attended had a super time!π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώππ

Lots of fun was had at βKidz Playβ for our house treat! All of our Dean house pupils and staff, Golden Ticket winners and Shining Stars had a blast!

Three of our amazing childrenβs designs were chosen out of over 500 entries! Their cake designs will be brought to life for their birthday by Charlene's cake creations. We have Taylor in P3 whose cake will be made for his February birthday (snowman design), Alicia in P5 whose cake will be made for her birthday in November (cake with βAliciaβ on the design) and Curtis in P5/6 whose cake will be made for his birthday in December (gingerbread house design)!ππ° well done to all of our winners! What an amazing prize!ππ

Well done, Riley! An absolutely stunning design for a Christmas card!ππ
This is Riley the winner of our Christmas Card Competition.
He is delighted with his prize and knows exactly what he is getting - a new pair of football boots .
All the pupils were really motivated and Rileyβs winning card is on display ππ
With one more sleep before we finish for the Christmas holidays, the whole school are still on cloud nine after our fantastic P4-7s put on a showstopping performance of Cinderella Rockerfella! ππ
We are immensely proud of every single person involved in the show who displayed extraordinary confidence as well as our school value of growth. πππΌ
