This week we were experimenting with water, using different objects to see if they would ‘sink’ or ’swim’

This experiment is a super visual way to introduce the concepts of density and buoyancy.

We had fun guessing before we put them in the water.

Messy/Sensory Play ….

We had to find the shapes hidden in the foam, with one hand behind our back and our eyes closed.

Great fun and even more fun when we covered ourselves in foam 😆

It’s childminding week ❤️
Let’s celebrate all the work by childminders Scottish Childminding Association

At JoJo’s we celebrated with pizza 🍕

We prepared and made our own pizzas for lunch - yum!
Then we got creative and made pretend pizzas. We talked about colour, shape and texture too.

We had fun planting our sunflower seeds, and amazed how quickly we got shoots.

All plants have safely been sent home …. Can’t wait to see the progress 🌻🌻🌻🌻

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mummies who choose me to look after their children while they’re at work etc.

World Book Day 2022 - we had a tea party with a tiger and read ‘a tiger came to tea’. We made bookmarks and read some more stories and of course we dressed up as our favourite characters.

Yesterday we were hopeful for Spring, so we made our own daffodils 🌼

Today it’s definitely Winter, so it’s sparkly snowflakes ❄️

All good fun though 🎨 🌼❄️

Today we celebrated Robert Burns Day. We had some Scottish dancing/music, some stories, Scottish snacks and we even designed our own tartan …. Coming to a kilt shop near you 🤪 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Nursery registration begins tmrw until 12th March.

I meet the criteria required by our local authority to provide ‘blended care’ - split time with childminder and nursery.

We’ve been doing lots of activities to celebrate Robert Burns Day this week.

We made tartan bow ties
We made our own tartan by paper weaving
We listened to a story about Hamish the Hairy Haggis
We danced to Donald Where’s yer troosers
We ate haggis crisps and shortbread for snack time

Another busy week at JoJo’s 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

This week at JoJo’s we’ve been creating our own experiments and some messy play.

🟡 made our own play dough

🟡 experimented with water, oil, food colouring and foam

🟡 coloured spaghetti for messy texture play

🟡 made a rainbow with skittles and water

With the very cold weather, we’ve been busy making bird feeders so our little bird friends can get something to eat.
The kids loved this activity and it was a good opportunity to develop their fine motor skills too.

Mum’s and Dad’s if you catch a wee bird having some of our seed please take a photo and share with us- we would love to see that our feeders were being used 🥰
