Young people—looking for something fun to do this summer? We’ve got you covered!

Join our Community Learning Team for a fun-filled morning of hands-on activities, friendly competition, and learning through play. Will you join Team Literacy or Team Numeracy? There’s something for everyone!

✏️ National Writing Day: writing starts with play!

Did you know that children don't need to form letters or write words to begin learning about writing?

Scribbles, drawings, mark making and pretend writing all help children understand that writing can be useful, meaningful and fun.

Try these simple ideas at home:

🧸 Make labels or little books for toys at a teddy bears' picnic
🚗 Create road signs, tickets or car wash signs when playing with vehicles
🏠 Add signs and labels to small world play scenes
🍽️ Make menus, order pads and name badges for role-play cafés and restaurants

The best part? You don't need special resources. Paper, cardboard boxes, old notepads and your child's imagination are enough.

And remember, if your child's writing looks like scribbles, that's OK. Every mark they make is helping them learn.

Looks like a few sunny and very warm days this week ☀️

Please apply suncream to your child before coming into the Centre. There is a Suncream Station at Main Reception for your convenience . 😊
Staff will reapply when required during their sessions.

We will have Hydration Stations where children can freely access their bottles of water 💦

🌟It’s nearly the summer holidays and this can mean changes to daily routines. A visual calendar can be a way to support children with these changes. 🌟

The last week of term is just around the corner, what a quick year this has been.......

Peep TALK is a flexible, strengths-based programme that helps practitioners support parents to build their child’s talking and listening through everyday interactions. It’s useful for all families, but especially for those with concerns or waiting for speech and language therapy.

Created by Peeple in collaboration with Speech and Language Therapists, Peep TALK emphasises the importance of everyday interactions in enhancing communication skills within the home.
