🧘♀️ Yoga at The Portland (Galston) – Important Update 🧘♀️
Please note that there will be no yoga class running this week at The Portland.
Although the class was fully booked last week, unfortunately only one person attended. As YMCA Kilmarnock is a charity, this situation isn’t sustainable for us, as there are costs involved in running these sessions.
That said, both Kilmarnock YMCA and Galston Trust really believe in this class – and in the other community sessions we have planned for the future. We truly feel that activities like this can make a real difference to health, wellbeing, and community life here in the town.
To help us keep these sessions running, we’ll now be moving to a block payment system, where payment will be taken upfront for 5 classes at a cost of £35 (via bank transfer).
➡️ All current bookings are now cancelled, but we’ll be contacting those on the waiting list to offer them a space.
If you’d like to book a place in the next block (starting Wednesday 22nd October, 7pm), please email [email protected] and we’ll provide the bank details for payment.
We completely understand that some people may not be able to make it to every class due to shift work, caring commitments, or other responsibilities. If that’s the case, please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we’ll do our best to work something out so you can still take part.
Thank you all for your understanding and continued support 💛
Together, we can keep building opportunities that bring people together and support wellbeing across our community.

A huge thank you to Stuart at Commando Factory in Newmilns for donating some unwanted yoga mats to us today, he's an absolute star🌟Since he helped us out, maybe we can return the favour - Commando Factory do some amazing work in the community and with veterans, and they need some bits and pieces for the community area of the gym, to make it a safe and welcoming place. If you're able to donate:
Plants
Beanbags / comfy seating
Coffee table / small furniture
Fridge / kettle / bits for a brew
Decor to make it feel like home
Or anything else you think could help create a warm, safe, and inclusive environment,
then please drop Commando Factory a message

Hi folks! We're on the lookout for a few yoga mats - if anyone has one going spare that they'd like to donate to us, please let us know and we can arrange pick up - or you can drop them in to the YMCA building on Soulis Street 🥰
