Looking forward to learning a lot more about Bees from Louise !🤓

Louise our Community Food Worker is passionate about bees and entered the hive for the first time at the weekend. She will be sharing her stories as a new beekeeper here and on her blog ayrshirefoodfromayrshirefolk.wordpress.com.

These precious insects are not just honey producers but pollinators. Any chance she gets she will be sharing her 'interesting' facts such as did you know one teaspoon of pollen (what the bees collect on their legs and take back to the hives as their protein food source) takes one bee working eight hours a day for one month to gather. Each bee pollen pellet contains over two million flower pollen grains and one teaspoonful contains over 2.5 billion grains of flower pollen

Louise will be driving the Ayrshire Food from Ayrshire Folk campaign in anticipation of our hub being built. Please join us on our journey and watch out for updates. Oh and share our page please! 🙂
