CURRENT RESEARCH BRICKWALL, Elsie Petrie was born in Aberdalgie in 1871 and after a period living in the Gorbals moved to the Lambeth area of London and married Matthew Langridge.
Her father Andrew was jailed for stealing ferrets from Ayton House in near Perth in 1885- and then he disappears-no other information as yet.
Sometime before 1885 he changed the family name from Patrick, why? maybe because it sounded Irish or maybe because of some wrongdoing.
