Adam McLean's Tarot collection I built my collection in order to research, collect and promote interest in the artwork of modern tarot, 1960 to the present, in all its aspects.

Last night, I tried to update my Wikipedia entry, primarily to add information about my Alchemical Translations series.
The text got taken down quickly. Wikipedia requires sources for any material entered on my page. They prefer printed sources, and the editors seem to be quick to pounce on any uncredited or unsourced entry.
Since I last looked at my Wikipedia entry a year or so ago, the text has been significantly pruned. They do not accept the subject of the Wikipedia page as a source and prefer to have third-party references, especially from printed books.
If anyone knows of a book in which my work is referenced, I could add that in. It would need full details of the book and the relevant page numbers.
There are many things I have done which are not in my Wikipedia entry. I would like to get it up to date, as it is, no doubt, a site that people check when wanting to know about my work.

The tarot collectors forum, which I set up in 2007 has now been closed.
I have set up a new forum on my own server so it will not be at the mercy of companies closing down.

I am looking for someone to act as a moderator primarily dealing with subscriptions and people's inevitable problems logging on, forgetting their passwords or usernames and such.

Also being on the lookout for spammers and people trying to take advantage of the users of the board.

It would require a few minutes each day.

Initially, it could be quite busy as I expect there will be a rush to subscribe, but after a few weeks, it should become relatively stable.

In the first week of September 2007, I set up the Tarot Collectors forum, a bulletin board where people interested in collecting tarot decks could share their insights and enthusiasms.

This was hosted on a site in the USA for which I paid a subscription. A few days ago, the operator of that system informed me that he had to close his site by the end of this year, as it now required too much of his time to run the many boards he hosted. Unfortunately, there was no simple way to port or move this to another system, as the PHP coding of the software would not work without considerable modification.

I have now converted the board into html web pages and have archived it on my website. It would have been criminal to let fifteen years of detailed information about tarot just disappear. As it consisted of 80,000 files and was over 2 gigabytes in size, it proved very difficult to create a stable website. It took me three full days, and tied up my computer for three or four hours while uploading a version of the site. I had to do this over eight times till I had a fully working system with all the text, images and links showing correctly.

Although the actual discussion forum will be no more, its massive store of information, text and images is now archived and will survive forever.

I first came across Beth Seilonen in 2006 when she was issuing individual tarot designs as ACEO (Art Card Originals and Editions).
By 2007 she started self-publishing sets of tarot cards. Little did I know then that she was to become the most prolific producer of tarot designs.
By the time I ceased actively collecting tarot in 2013/14 I had bought almost all her output to then, some 45 tarot decks.
In June 2019, I mounted an exhibition of her work in my Art Gallery here in Kilbirnie. People were rather bemused at the quantity of material.
I am now, regrettably, selling off my tarot collection, as I cannot leave the responsibility to Franzeska or my sister.
I have now put up a page on my Rare Tarot site to sell this part of my Tarot collection.

St. Patrick's Well is a construction built in the 16th century in Italy. It was created by architect Antonio da Sangallo the Younger. It has been given this name from a medieval legend of Ireland's St Patrick. This legend is shown in Dante's Divine Comedy, symbolising the descent to hell.

George Pantoulos Tarot. by George Pantoulos, Self-published in 2012. Very rare.
This tarot was the basis for an exhibition of digitally collaged photographs in July 2012 in the Tailor Made Cafe in Athens. Following the exhibition, the artist had these printed as a set of cards. His imagery is powerful, often visceral and is skillfully realised, with some focus on bird forms. The deck is subtitled "A surrealistic view within the human soul".

I am in the process of selling many of the items in my tarot collection. I have set up a website in order to do this. I have many rare tarots from the late 20th and first decade of the 21st century. I ceased collection in 2015.

In 2006 I began a Tarot weblog which I continued for 10 years until 2015.
In this, I posted information about tarot decks, imagery and other matters often more than once weekly. It amounts to a considerable mass of information about tarot,
which may be of interest to tarot collectors. There are many hundreds of entries, often describing rare and obscure items.
