🌟 Introducing Our School Council 🌟

Pupil voice is important to us and our pupils in Gwenllian because it ensures that our pupils feel heard, valued, and empowered, helping our school to make meaningful decisions that truly reflect pupils’ needs and experiences.

We’re proud to introduce our fantastic School Council members, a small but powerful group of pupils who represent pupil voice across our school.

Our School Council meets once a term with Lynsey giving pupils a dedicated space to:

- Share any ideas or concerns
- Talk about what’s working well
- Help us think about ways to improve their school experience
- Feel listened to, valued, and involved in decisions that affect them

Their role is incredibly important. By hearing directly from our pupils, we can make sure the school continues to be a place where everyone feels safe, happy, and supported.

We met today (selfie included! 📸), and we’re delighted to say that all pupils shared that they are happy with how things are going in school, which is always lovely to hear. Their positive feedback means so much and helps us know we’re on the right track.

Thank you to our School Council members for your honesty, confidence, and brilliant contributions – your voices really do matter 💬

💙 Community kindness at its best 💙

A little while ago, we reached out to the local community to see if anyone might be able to donate a ceiling fan for one of our pupils who absolutely LOVES ceiling fans.

We are incredibly grateful to a very kind local couple Dr. Mark Thomas and Jacqueline Galliford Thomas who purchased a vintage fan for our pupil.

As you can see from the photos, we have one very happy pupil😊 whose favourite thing to do it customise the fans and add accessories.

Thank you both for your kindness, thoughtfulness and support. It truly means the world to our pupils and staff, and it’s moments like this that remind us how special our community is 💜

🎄 What a Wonderful Christmas Week at Gwenllian!

This week we enjoyed our festive Christmas Dinner for staff and pupils and our lovely Coffee Afternoon / Christmas Party with parents and carers. What a fantastic turnout we had! Thank you to all parents and carers who attended.

Our pupils have worked incredibly hard over the last week preparing their Christmas crafts and refreshments. From designing and making the items to helping run the stall on the day, they showed brilliant teamwork, communication and enterprise skills ⭐️

A huge thank you to all the pupils who helped prepare and sell the craft items. We are so proud of you. All profits are being donated to Save the Children ❤️

A special thank you to Terry our amazing chef, for cooking a delicious Christmas dinner for staff and pupils, and to Sarah Beck for helping to serve up the food 🙏🏻

And of course, thank you to our wonderful team of staff for your continued dedication, energy and enthusiasm in making events like this happen.

We appreciate you more than you know.

We’re sharing some lovely photos below from both the dinner and the Christmas party, full of festive joy, crafts, smiles and celebrations

🎄 Christmas Party & Coffee Afternoon – Tomorrow at 1.30pm! 🎄

Gwenllian Education Centre | 1.30pm – 3.00pm

We are excited to welcome all Gwenllian parents and carers to our Christmas Party and Coffee Afternoon tomorrow at 1.30pm!

Our pupils have been busy over the last few weeks creating beautiful Christmas crafts and making refreshments as part of their enterprise projects.

They have been learning all about loans, pricing, profit and giving back to the community. The children are hoping to make a profit from their creations and donate the money raised to Save the Children ❤️

✨ Please remember to bring cash if you would like to purchase any of the wonderful items the pupils have made and wear something Christmassy.

If you would like to take your child home with you at the end of the event instead of them going on their usual taxi, just let a member of staff know on the day.

We look forward to celebrating the festive season with you all! 🎅✨
