Did you know that Busy Bugs Day Nursery is a registered Flying Start childcare setting in Carmarthenshire? 🌈

Flying Start provides eligible 2-year-olds with funded, high-quality childcare, giving children opportunities to play, learn, explore and develop in a happy and nurturing environment. 💕🌱
Here at Busy Bugs Day Nursery in Kidwelly, we have been providing childcare within our community since 2013. Our experienced and caring team are passionate about giving every child the very best start. 🐞

Alongside Flying Start, we offer a range of childcare sessions for children aged 0–12 years, as well as funded childcare through the Childcare Offer for Wales for eligible families.

There is something truly magical about bringing nature into nursery.

From caring for plants and exploring natural materials to watching the changing seasons, nature provides endless opportunities for children to learn, discover and grow. It encourages curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and imagination, while also supporting children’s emotional wellbeing by creating a calm and nurturing environment.

Whether we’re planting seeds, learning about life cycles, investigating insects, using our imagination in play, or simply enjoying time outdoors, every experience helps children develop a deeper appreciation for the world around them.

🌿 Our Garden Just Got Even Better! 🌿

Our children have had a fantastic half-term week exploring and enjoying our new woodland treehouse and mud kitchen! ✨
The new additions to our garden have already inspired so much imaginative play, creativity and adventure. From creating delicious recipes in the mud kitchen to climbing, exploring and role-playing in the woodland treehouse, the children have been busy making wonderful memories outdoors.
Outdoor play is such an important part of children's learning and development, and it has been lovely to see their confidence, curiosity and imagination flourish in our enhanced garden environment.

After School Club Fun 🌍✨

The children have had a lovely time getting creative this afternoon, making African-themed pasta jewellery!
They explored different colours and patterns while threading the pasta, supporting their fine motor skills and concentration. A fun, hands-on activity that sparked lots of creativity and conversation 😊

✨ Investing in new resources at Busy Bugs! ✨

At Busy Bugs we are always looking for new ways to support the children’s learning through play. Recently we invested in a projector, allowing the children to explore light and shadow on the walls.

The children had so much fun using their hands and different objects to create shadows and see how they moved and changed.

Activities like this encourage creativity, curiosity and imagination, while also introducing early science concepts such as light, shapes and cause and effect.

We love seeing the children explore, experiment and learn through play!

We’re excited to be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 5th March at Busy Bugs!
Children are very welcome to come dressed as their favourite book character if they would like to 🎭📖 (no pressure at all – comfy clothes are absolutely fine too!)
We’ll be enjoying lots of stories, imaginative play and fun book-themed activities throughout the day ❤️
We can’t wait to see all the amazing costumes!
