🚨❤️ MEET THE HEART HERO™ ELLIOT® AED – READY WHEN EVERY SECOND COUNTS! ❤️🚨

Would you know what to do if someone suffered a sudden cardiac arrest?

At Severn Valley Training, we believe that being prepared for a cardiac emergency can make a life-saving difference. Having access to an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and knowing how to respond are essential parts of workplace, school and sports facility safety.

❤️ INTRODUCING THE HEART HERO™ ELLIOT® AED

The HeartHero™ Elliot® AED is a portable, life-saving device designed to guide users through a cardiac emergency with clear voice prompts and visual instructions.

Designed for ease of use, it helps responders focus on what matters most: taking action when someone needs urgent help.

🌡️ BUILT TO PERFORM IN A RANGE OF TEMPERATURES

The HeartHero™ Elliot® AED functions reliably in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C, making it suitable for a variety of environments and conditions.

🏢 WHERE CAN IT BE USED?

The HeartHero™ Elliot® AED is suitable for a range of settings, including:

✅ Offices and workplaces
✅ Schools and universities
✅ Gyms and sports facilities
✅ Public buildings and transport hubs
✅ First aid response settings

⚡ HOW DOES IT WORK?

In a suspected cardiac arrest, every second matters. The AED guides the responder through the process:

1️⃣ Switch on the AED.
2️⃣ Attach the electrode pads to the casualty’s bare chest as shown on the pads.
3️⃣ Allow the device to analyse the heart rhythm.
4️⃣ Follow the voice and visual instructions.
5️⃣ Deliver a shock if advised, ensuring nobody is touching the casualty.
6️⃣ Continue CPR and follow the AED’s prompts until emergency services arrive or the casualty shows signs of recovery.

The AED analyses the heart rhythm and advises a shock only when indicated. Always follow the device’s instructions and the emergency call handler’s guidance.

💙 KEY FEATURES OF THE HEART HERO™ ELLIOT® AED

🔹 Clear voice guidance throughout the rescue process
🔹 Simple one-button activation
🔹 Lightweight and portable design
🔹 Automated heart rhythm analysis
🔹 Safety systems to prevent inappropriate shock delivery
🔹 Designed to support trained and untrained responders
🔹 Reliable operation between -20°C and 50°C, according to the supplied product specifications

🚑 WHY ARE CPR AND AED AWARENESS SO IMPORTANT?

If someone collapses, is unresponsive and is not breathing normally, call 999, start CPR immediately and ask someone to fetch an AED.

Early CPR and defibrillation can significantly improve the chance of survival following sudden cardiac arrest.

At Severn Valley Training, we’re passionate about helping people develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to respond to emergencies.

❤️ BE PREPARED. TAKE ACTION. HELP SAVE A LIFE.

❤️🚑 CARDIAC RISK IN ATHLETES: WOULD YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO? 🚑❤️

As a first aid training provider, we believe it’s vital to raise awareness of cardiac risks in sport and the importance of being prepared for a cardiac emergency.

Athletes are often seen as the picture of health, but being young, fit and active does not mean someone is immune to an underlying heart condition or sudden cardiac arrest.

⚠️ WHAT SHOULD WE BE LOOKING OUT FOR?

Some warning signs of a potential heart problem include:

❤️ Chest pain or discomfort during exercise.
❤️ Fainting or collapsing, particularly during physical activity.
❤️ Unexplained breathlessness during exercise.
❤️ Racing or irregular heartbeats, especially when accompanied by dizziness.
❤️ A family history of sudden unexplained death at a young age or inherited heart conditions.

These symptoms should never be ignored. Anyone experiencing them should stop exercising and seek medical assessment. If someone collapses, is unresponsive and is not breathing normally, call 999 immediately.

🚨 WHY ARE CPR AND AED TRAINING SO IMPORTANT?

Sudden cardiac arrest is a life-threatening emergency. Immediate CPR and early use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) can significantly improve the person’s chance of survival.

Would you and your team know what to do?

✅ Recognise the signs of cardiac arrest.
✅ Call 999 and ask someone to get an AED.
✅ Start CPR immediately.
✅ Follow the AED’s voice instructions.
✅ Continue CPR and follow the AED prompts until emergency services take over or the person shows signs of recovery.

🏟️ SPORTS CLUBS, GYMS AND TRAINING FACILITIES

Having an emergency action plan, accessible AED equipment and people trained to respond can make a crucial difference when an emergency happens.

At Severn Valley Training, we are passionate about helping people develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to respond to emergencies. First aid training isn’t just about gaining a certificate; it’s about being prepared to act when someone needs you most.

💙 COULD YOU SAVE A LIFE?

Let’s work together to make sport safer by promoting cardiac awareness, CPR and defibrillator training across the UK.

📩 Get in touch to find out more about our first aid training courses and how we can help you or your organisation feel more prepared.

Be prepared. Be confident. Potentially save a life. ❤️

🐾❤️ Giving Back to Dogs in Need ❤️🐾

Oni’s Posh Pooches and Emma’s Pawfect Pamper have come together to give back to the dogs who, through no fault of their own, are without families and without a place to call home.

We’re delighted to be donating our services to Wyre Forest Dog Rescue, where we’ll be spending time pampering the dogs, giving them lots of cuddles, treats and, most importantly, the love and attention they deserve. 🐶💕

We’d love your help too! If you’re able to donate, the rescue has let us know that small-bite dry food and Chappie canned food are the foods the dogs enjoy the most. 🐾

If you’d prefer to make a monetary donation instead, that would also be hugely appreciated and will help the rescue continue caring for these lovely dogs.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference.❤️

Thank you so much for supporting us and helping us spoil some very deserving pooches! 🐾🐶✨

🅱️ B is for Burns & Scalds 🔥

It’s Week 2 of our A–Z of First Aid Awareness, and this week B is for BURNS & SCALDS.

Burns can happen in seconds — from hot drinks and cooking to chemicals, electricity, cold and even friction.

Would you know what to do? 🤔

💧 COOL the burn under cold running water for at least 20 minutes.
💍 REMOVE jewellery or tight clothing, unless it’s stuck to the skin.
🩹 COVER after cooling with clean cling film applied in layers, or a clean non-fluffy dressing.
🧊 NEVER use ice, creams, oils or butter, and don’t burst blisters.

⚠️ Burns and scalds to the face, hands, feet, ge****ls or around joints need medical attention.

One of the most important things to remember:

💙 COOL THE BURN, NOT THE PERSON.

Take a moment to read our poster and please share it, you never know who might need this knowledge one day.

❤️ Small knowledge can make a big difference.

EXTREME HEAT 🌡️

Extreme hot temperatures can be dangerous and pose a serious risk to health, particularly for older adults, young children and those with underlying health conditions.

As we experience this period of extreme heat, it’s important to take extra care to protect yourself and those around you. Please take the following precautions:

💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
🏠 Stay indoors or in cool shaded areas whenever possible.
☀️ Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm).
👒 Wear loose, light-coloured clothing, a hat, and sunscreen if you need to go outside.
🚗 Never leave children, vulnerable adults, or pets in parked vehicles.
👵 Check regularly on elderly neighbours, friends, and relatives.

⚠️ Watch for signs of heat exhaustion, including dizziness, headaches, excessive sweating, nausea, and weakness.

🚨 Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Call 999 immediately if someone:
• Has a very high body temperature
• Becomes confused or disoriented
• Stops sweating despite the heat
• Has a seizure
• Loses consciousness

Let’s look after ourselves and each other during this period of extreme heat.
