This week the children were lucky enough to take part in an animal encounter, meeting snakes, tortoises, geckos, a chameleon and a chinchilla! They were surprised to learn that snakes are not at all slimy and that chinchillas can move very fast when they want to! 😆
Thank you to The Hive Preschool, Whitchurch. for inviting us along and to Scales and Tails Encounters for the animals! 🦎🐍🐢

World Bee Day fun this week! 🐝
The children were buzzing with excitement as they made playdough bees, painted honeycomb patterns, made wooly pine cone bees and explored our bee‑themed books.
So much creativity, colour, and wiggly‑bee energy — we’re definitely feeling the buzz 🐝💛

There’s something magical about water play 💧✨
From pouring and mixing to splashing and experimenting, moments like these are so much more than just fun—they’re full of learning too!
Water play helps children:
🌈 Build creativity and imagination
🖐️ Develop fine motor skills through pouring, squeezing, and scooping
🧠 Explore early science concepts like volume, cause and effect, and color mixing
💬 Grow language skills as they describe what they’re doing
😌 Feel calm and engaged through sensory play
And the best part? It’s child-led, open-ended, and full of joy.
Give them a few tools, some colorful water, and a little freedom—and watch their curiosity come to life 💙
