Exam season is imminent, which means I will have availability for new students from early June.
Please get in touch if your child could benefit from one-to-one tuition in English. Lessons can take place at my home, in Keynsham, or online, via Zoom.

That’s a wrap for 2025 🎄🤶
Thank you very much to all my wonderful clients and students this year. Have a very Merry Christmas and I hope 2026 brings you all good things

Personal post
Thank you so much to all my amazing clients and students for your patience and kindness recently.
I have Stage Two Meniere’s Disease, which means I am constantly struggling with vertigo and tinnitus. It also makes thinking, concentrating and talking very difficult - sometimes impossible. As someone who has been lucky enough to enjoy a lifetime of having a sharp mind and quick brain, this is really difficult to cope with.
There is light at the end of the tunnel; whilst there is no cure, I am starting intensive steroid treatment, to help manage the symptoms, later this month.
I genuinely love my job: teaching as much as I can, whenever I can, remains my goal. In the meantime, what I am doing is:
1. Rescheduling, rather than cancelling, lessons whenever possible. This means I am working both days at the weekends, when I can, but I want to keep my business going. Giving up the job I love simply isn’t an option I’m prepared to entertain.
2. I can set revision tasks/work for a student to complete independently, and review what they have completed the next time I see them.
Hopefully better days are ahead. Thank you so much for being flexible and understanding. Please know that I am doing everything in my power to keep supporting your children.
I’m delighted to be working with Digitech Studio School Bristol again this year, providing one to one support in English.
Digitech were one of my first ever clients, when I started the business, so this will be my sixth year of working with their students.

I love the AI generated reports after a Zoom lesson. They can be useful revision resources and a way of letting parents know what has been covered.

It’s beginning to look a lot like 🎄🤶
Lots of my students are reading one of my favourite books this term. I love it 📚

New qualifications for students who fail English and maths GCSEs The government also announces plans for ‘V-level’ vocational qualifications, along with a duty on schools to support students into post-16 study
Christmas Holidays
Advance notice: I’ll be taking two weeks off at Christmas, from 20th December-4th January (inclusive of those dates)
I’ve not had a full week off since February, so I’m going to indulge myself and have a proper break.
Thinking ahead…
Year 11s will be sitting their mock exams in the coming weeks. After the results are in, I will be deluged with desperate messages from worried parents, who have realised that their child is in need of extra support (it happens every year). Sadly, I have no capacity whatsoever for taking on more students during the evenings, so I will have to turn those parents away.
If you have a child in Year 9, or Year 10, and you think they might need an English Tutor to help them through their GCSEs, then please consider adding their name to my waiting list now. I can contact you in May 2026 and you can get them started with me in June, when my current Year 11s finish.
I am always fully booked by November, so please think ahead. There is no deposit required, or any obligation on your part to take a place when it is offered.
I missed my business birthday again!
Aspire to Achieve Tutoring turned five last week. It’s been a wonderful journey so far, and I hope to enjoy many more years of doing what I love.
Thank you to all my clients for putting your faith in me.
Sorry Everyone, I absolutely cannot squeeze in any more lessons at the moment.
If you want to go on the waiting list, please let me know, but I would advise not doing so if your child is in Year 11, as they may not get a space before they sit their exams.
Thank you to all my wonderful clients, who enable me to earn a living doing what I love. I wish I could help more children, but there are a limited number of hours in a day!

I love my job SO much!
In the classroom, I had to juggle the needs of thirty students at a time. I did my best, but nothing beats having one-to-one time with a student and being able to really get to the heart of what they need.
