Little Sunflowers

It is with a heavy heart I announce the closure of Little Sunflowers. I have had many fantastic years sharing my life with amazing families and wonderful children. I feel proud of the impact I have made and the big childcare family I now have (anyone who knows me knows once I’m in your life I’m always in it). It’s time to look forward to new adventures. Little Sunflowers will not cease to be it will continue in the memories and children who I have been lucky enough to look after. It’s time for all my little sunflowers to grow and shine without me.

All children (and adults) struggle with big emotions at times. Helping children understand these emotions is important and these calm baskets are a great idea that doesn’t need to cost the earth.

We love what we do but some days are a little more special than others; today was one of those where the children became pirates and sailed up the harbour on The Matthew!

This week we started thinking about birds. Extending our learning of habitats and of course making our own. Our story of the week has been owl babies, that we use for retelling. So many skills have been practiced and new vocabulary used 🐥🐥

Weekends are all about preparing for incoming events. This weekend I’ve had fun painting new activities.

Little Sunflowers have been busy today transforming the setting into a winter wonderland! We can’t wait for the kids to see it.
