During this time he gained another MA in Archives Studies at University College London and a deep knowledge of the military records in the UK. Simon has an extensive experience of mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students - studying military history - and most recently for PhDs. Simon has given many talks and tours on a wide variety of subjects to VIPs, specialist groups, students and veterans on many different topics. He has also participated in numerous Battlefield tours, notably Arnhem, Normandy, the Somme and Salerno. Simon really enjoys exploring the personal experiences of men and women who served this country and the Commonwealth since 1899. This includes not only the battlefield which ranges from the mid of the Western Front to the deserts of North Africa and the jungles of Burma and Malaya but also the ordeal of civilians on the Home Front, who have increasingly become the focus and target of modern warfare.
