A berry busy day ππ«
Today we went on a lovely walk to pick some juicy blackberries, then got creative and used them to make our very own T-shirts! ππ
A nurturing childminding service, based in the North side of Kettering.
At Roo's we offer a home-like space where children can explore, develop independence and unleash their imagination.

Today we hired a beautiful village hall, and it was the perfect space for all of our Roos to play, both indoors and outdoors.
We brought along some of their favourite toys and, of course, our craft box! The safe and picturesque garden provided a wonderful place to explore, enjoy garden games, and create magical potions together.

We were so excited to visit the library now that it has moved back to its original building. Sharing stories together was wonderful, and one of the highlights was seeing our older children enthusiastically reading to the younger ones. β€οΈ
The bus journey was an adventure in itself, with everyone having great fun spotting red cars along the way! ππ
We got creative by spinning to make colourful masterpieces before enjoying games and laughter with our friends. π«

Last week was guided by the children's own curiosity and ways to keep cool in the heat. From paddling pool play and gentle nature walks to creating nature crowns, planting and splashing at playgroup. Each experience invited exploration, independence, and joyful discovery.
The children followed their interests, built confidence, and found joy in the simple moments. πΏβοΈβοΈ

So much fun this week! We enjoyed getting muddy in the garden, made our own pizzas, created some large-scale paintings with our friends at playgroup, and finished the week with a little trip to the farm. So many lovely memories and lots of happy little faces! πΏππ¨π§ͺ

πβ¨ Saint is on a mission this summer and he needs your support! β¨π
This summer, Saint is lacing up his trainers and taking on not one, but TWO incredible challenges in honour of his amazing uncle Gary! π
π 6K Sparkle Walk
π 5K Pretty Muddy Walk
That's 11 kilometres of walking, sparkling, getting muddy, and making a difference!
π As well as taking on these challenges, Saint would love to help a wonderful local mum, Hannah, create magical memories with her son. Your generosity could help make special moments they'll cherish forever.
So, if you'd like to cheer Saint on, help him smash his fundraising target, and support three truly meaningful causes, please donate using the links below.
Thank you for your support β every pound helps and means the world to us! β€οΈ

A little walk to find some puddles βοΈ
We gathered daisies for homemade potion bottles, sketched with sticks, and observed the tiniest frogs as they hopped along the path in search of water. πΌπΈ
A simple puddle walk that sparked curiosity, creativity and lots of wonder. πβοΈπ

Our Ofsted report is finally out, which means we can finally share our results! π
Iβm so proud that the hard work Leigh and I put in every single day has been recognised. At Roo's Childminding Kettering , we strive to give the very best start to every little one who walks through our door, and we will continue to work hard because the smiles on the children's faces at the end of each day make every late night of planning and every playroom change worthwhile.
From the very beginning, our goal has been to create a home-based setting that celebrates the fact that every child is unique. We wanted to provide a place where children feel loved, valued and confidentβa learning environment that is adapted to them as individuals, rather than expecting them to adapt to the environment.
I also want to give a special shout-out to my husband, Keenan 'kiki' Rooney . I honestly couldn't do this job without his support. He has been behind me from the moment I first mentioned becoming a childminder. He's embraced every change I've made around the house to create the best possible environment for the children to learn and play in (the mud-digging area definitely wasn't part of his original garden renovation plans π), and he never complains about the dishes left at the end of a busy day or the noise while he's trying to sleep after a night shift.
Thank you to all of our families for trusting us with your precious little ones. We are so grateful to be part of their journey and can't wait to continue helping them learn, grow and thrive. β€οΈ

A Week of Activities
I love that we have created an environment where the children truly take the lead in choosing the activities we do each day. Sometimes itβs as simple as asking me to get something out, while other times they share an idea and together we turn it into something creative and exciting.
Their suggestions often come from new interests they are developing or from activities they have enjoyed in the past. Whatever the inspiration, I always strive to bring their ideas to life. It is wonderful to see their enthusiasm, imagination, and confidence grow as they take ownership of their play and experiences.
