The Latimer Arts College

Enrika achieved four grade 9s and five grade 8s and is staying on to study English Literature History and Politics.

Miley achieved five grade 9s, a grade 8, 2 grade 7s and a grade 6. She will be studying Politics, History and Philosophy and Ethics at Latimer.

Lucas achieved two grade 8s, three grade 7s, a grade 6 and two grade 5s. He will be studying Engineering at Silverstone UTC.

Sam achieved an incredible eight grade 9s, and two grade 7s.

Mason achieved three grade 9s, four grade 8s and a distinction.

Both will study Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths at Latimer.

Latimer Unlocks Potential!

Students’ dedication has been rewarded with good results and overwhelmingly their chosen next steps are secured. Students, parents and staff celebrated individual, subject and overall successes, proving once again that learning at Latimer unlocks potential and inspires excellence.

Students have shown what is possible with the right attitude to learning and the support of dedicated staff and parents. This year some students have succeeded despite significant barriers. And we are particularly proud of those students whose ambition and resilience paid off. I would like to pay tribute to the staff who supported our students, both academically and pastorally.

Once again, students’ average point score has increased. For the second year running year, the number of students achieving 9-5 in both English and Maths has increased to 43% and those achieving 9-4 in English and Maths has remained at an impressive 70%. These are key qualifications for student pathways.

We are delighted that so many students have applied for the SixthForm@Latimer again this year, where we know students also thrive. We wish all students well in the future, knowing that these excellent results have opened doors for them so they can go on to achieve their dreams.

Jacob Jose and Zak Skeggs are both going to study Aeronautical Engineering at Loughborough University. Having both achieved A*AAA and A*AAA.

Jack Baish has secured a place at Bangor University to study Zoology having achieved A*A*AA

Having achieved BBC Sean Cafferty will be studying Law at Nottingham Trent University, Kyra Newman will be studying Law at the University of Exeter having achieved A*BB and B in EPQ.

Kiera Diamond hopes to study English with secondary education at Nottingham Trent University.



Those not planning to go to university, did equally well and future plans include:

Hayden Drage who is going onto a degree apprenticeship with Plumbco and other apprenticeships ranging from Media to Accountancy.

Other career pathways such as Public Services – Police (Isabel Wildman) and Fire Service (Mason Sturgess)

Students are going on to a variety of destinations and onto Higher Education to study a wide range of subjects including:

Emily Bodsworth will be going onto read History at the University of Oxford, having achieved A*A*A.

Sean Chan who achieved a remarkable 5 A levels: A*A*A*AA and will be going to UCL to study Chemical Engineering.

Several students have achieved particularly exceptional personal outcomes, exceeding expectations and demonstrating just how far determination and ambition can take you.

We are also incredibly proud of Grace Lamb, Michael Wyldes and Archie Coles whose outstanding Level 3 results reflect the exceptional progress they have made since GCSE. Students are set targets based on their GCSE results and these students exceeded them by 6, 5 and 4 grades respectively. These individual journeys are a wonderful illustration of the resilience, commitment and ambition shown by our Sixth Form students.

Message from Assistant Principal Kerry Gallon:

Studying for Level 3 qualifications is demanding, and this year our Sixth Form students have once again demonstrated remarkable resilience, determination and commitment in overcoming every challenge along the way.

I am genuinely proud and delighted by the individual successes of every one of our students. Behind each result is a personal journey, and it has been fantastic to see students achieve their goals, whether that means progressing to university, securing an apprenticeship, entering employment, taking time to travel, or embarking on an exciting new adventure.

What makes these achievements particularly special is the individual progress each student has made. I am incredibly proud of the hard work, perseverance and ambition they have shown throughout their time at The Latimer Arts College, and of the many different pathways they are now able to pursue.

Message from Principal Kathryn Murphy:

We are so proud of the outcomes our students have achieved but also for all the additional opportunities they grasped during their time with us. They have gained skills and developed their characters, preparing themselves well for life beyond Latimer. They have had a positive impact at Latimer as fantastic role models, and we will miss them but wish them well for the next stage of their lives. We look forward to hearing about their future successes as part of the Latimer Alumni

Summer Success for Sixthform@Latimer

Success is more than outcomes and league tables. Whilst we are delighted with our highest ever average points score, what makes us proud are the pathways now open to them. The combination of students’ hard work and the dedication of the staff who taught and supported them has meant that all students have been able to access their chosen destinations.

Overwhelmingly sixth form students at The Latimer Arts College have achieved or exceeded their predictions, and importantly students have made good progress. Several students have achieved the very top grades possible. ¼ of all grades were A*- A and nearly half were A*-B at A Level. Equally pleasing are the BTEC results with nearly ¾ of students achieving Distinction/Distinction* grades in these vocational subjects.

At Latimer we are passionate about unlocking students' potential and inspiring ambitious futures. This year has shown what students are capable of when you believe in them. We wish them well as they follow their dreams.

For the final topic of Year 7 we used the Mad Hatter's tea Party as a stimulus. Here are some of the amazing creative pieces students made.
