Hi everyone. Thank you for looking at my page Mother Hen's Childcare.

My name is Lauren Cocking, I am a Ofsted registered childminder on the Childcare compulsory / voluntary register. I am able to care for school age children or younger but only for a maximum of two hours a day.

I live in Desborough and have done since April 2013. I live with my two children Amillee (age 8) and Lucas (age 4). We are a Military family who live unaccompanied, this means we do not move with my husband for our stability.

We have a great passion for animals and nature. We currently have two dogs, a cat, fifteen chickens,a rabbit, one horse and two ponies.

We also love to spend lots of time outdoors, especially when it comes to growing fruit and vegetables, every year we try and grow something new.

I have been lucky enough to be able to stay home with my children and watch the grow, this means so much to me that I had the opportunity to do so. I started the ball rolling to become a childminder when my son was 3 as I wanted to continue being home with them before and after school. I love a busy house full of laughter. My job is utterly amazing I not only get to see my children grow I get to see other kids grow and develop into such big personalities as well. I provide a home from home relaxed environment and our collection of pets go down a storm, learning how to care for them ect. Especially collecting eggs the children even the older ones love it. In spring we hatch chicken eggs as well which the childrens find very interesting, watching the development inside the shell and waiting patiently for them to hatch. We have had a few children who have started with me that have been very unsure of animals and have very quickly became best friends with them especially our labrador.

We are located within walking distance to Loatlands Primary School where my children attend.
