Our Reception tours for September 2027 are now open for booking on our website. We're really looking forward to meeting you, but we also want to help families make properly informed choices and want to try and limit disappointment.

Recently, more children apply for places at Hayfield Cross than there are spaces, and therefore our oversubscription criteria comes into play. This is set out in the admissions policy.
We also wanted to share some recent admissions information:
Since 2023, NO child living outside Hanwood Park WITHOUT a qualifying school connection (usually a sibling already attending) has been allocated a Reception place.
Sibling priority remains significant, with around 25-33% of places allocated to children who already have a sibling at the school.
This year, for September 2026 admissions, the last place offered under the distance criterion was to a child living approximately 640 metres from the school.
With ongoing housing development in the area, demand for places will continue to be high. We know that the plans for Hanwood Park include 3 or more primary schools, but at this point, these plans have not moved forward
