☀️ The end of July ☀️

We have done A LOT of junk modelling this week which showed some really great maths, communication and language skills from both the younger and older children! We have read stories, continued water play, visited parks ate ice creams and ended the week with potions and volcanos 🌋

I cant wait to see what August brings! 💚

The first week of the summer holidays has been a blast 🤩 Park visits, animal spotting, water play, bus trips and even a rouge dinosaur! 🦖

🌞 Another week of beautiful weather 🌞

We made the most of the cooler mornings with lots of park trips and bike trails 🛝

We have spotted some new bugs and plants on our nature walks with the children being particularly interested in the grasshoppers and how they make their sounds 🪲

And of course more water play and ice lollies to keep everyone smiling 🥰

I am away next week but look forward to seeing everyone again from the 20th 💚

This week's roundup 💚

This week we repotted some of our plants 🪴 sparking conversations about what plants need to grow and how we care for living things.

We enjoyed reading The Bumblebear 🐝 and created honey pots for the bears and flowers for the bees. This activity quickly turned into lots of colourful chalk drawings and creative mark making in the sunshine 🖍☀️.

To finish the week, we packed up our favourite teddies and headed to the park for a teddy bears' picnic 🧸. A lovely opportunity for fresh air, imaginative play and making memories with friends.

☀️ This week we've been finding lots of fun ways to keep cool! 😎💦

With the warm weather, we've enjoyed paddling pool fun, cooling off under the sprinkler, and heading out for early morning walks before the heat of the day.

The biggest hit was our frozen ice trays! 🧊 The children loved using pipettes to sq**rt water on them, sprinkling salt to investigate what made the ice melt fastest, watching the colours swirl and mix and smashing the ice! 🔨

Through this the children explored early science concepts such as cause and effect, melting and changing states, while also developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, and lots of language through discussion and discovery.

Sometimes the simplest activities create the biggest smiles and the best learning opportunities! 💙

Last week we enjoyed a trip to East Carlton park in the sunshine ☀️

The children dug, climbed, visited the ducks and we had a picnic outside all while building valuable social skills, working on gross motor skills and most importantly having fun 😁

It was lovely to see the children making new friends 💚

🌦 From obstacle courses and imaginative play to exploring outdoors in the rain, we've had a wonderful time building confidence, coordination, and making happy memories along the way. 🌦

Today we went hunting for creatures big and small! The children really enjoyed exploring our local area and this opened up wonderful conversations surrounding nature, habitats and life cycles ♻️
