💚 A lovely child-led day at Muddy Minis 💚

We had planned to head to playgroup this morning, but the girls were playing so beautifully together that I just couldn’t bring myself to interrupt them. Sometimes the best learning happens when children are given the time and space to become fully absorbed in their play, so we followed their lead and stayed home instead. 🥰

We enjoyed some painting, with the girls choosing their own colours and exploring mark making in their own way. 🎨 Handwashing then quickly turned into a splash zone! 😂 We had so much fun blowing bubbles, squeezing sponges and making the biggest splashes we could! A brilliant little opportunity to explore cause and effect through play. 💦

After naps and lunch, we squeezed in a quick trip to the park for some fresh air and physical play before finishing our day with a visit to the library. 📚

A day full of child-led play, creativity, exploration and lots of laughter. 💚

💚 A lovely day at Muddy Minis 💚

This morning we spent some time visiting HappyHearts KellyFirah, where all of the children explored with so much curiosity and kindness. It was lovely watching them play alongside one another, build confidence in a new environment and enjoy lots of social interaction. We then headed to the local church with three double pushchairs and two little walkers (quite the convoy)! 😂 The children enjoyed more play, a little singing and listening out for the church bells before we made our way back. 🔔

It was also really nice for me to connect with other like minded childminders, share experiences and have those valuable conversations with people who completely understand the childminding world. 💚

This afternoon, my two Minis really seemed to click and watching their little friendship begin to blossom was gorgeous to see. Lots of smiles, interaction and lovely moments together. Exactly what these early friendships are all about. 🥰

Only one little Mini with me today 💚

We headed over to playgroup this morning, which had a lovely autumn theme 🍂 My little Mini especially enjoyed exploring the trinket tray, spending lots of time carefully examining the different objects and moving them from one tray to another. It was lovely to see such brilliant concentration and curiosity! 🥰

We also had fun with the scented playdough — lots of squishing, squeezing and exploring… and we managed to leave without any being eaten, which I’m definitely counting as a win 😂

An early finish for me today as we head into the weekend. Looking forward to doing it all again next week 💚

🌧 No rain can dampen our fun 🌧

Today we took a walk across to some different parks listening to the rain from the pram and jumping in puddles as we went. The children practically flew down the slides and the fresh air treated everyone well!

Then after a clean up and lunch we explored our sensory table. This gives the children open ended play with a purpose 🥄 the children may simply look like they are scooping and sorting, but they are developing early maths, language, coordination and problem solving skills at the same time using different tools and exploring colours and textures ⭐️

Today we had lots of fun at playgroup exploring the different areas 🪀 We talked about filling and emptying at the sand table, sang songs and built confidence through independent exploring!

After lunch and naps we spent a while building train tracks and seeing what would work to help the trains go round 🚂

🍂 A busy week at Muddy Minis! 🍂

We’ve packed lots of learning into our play this week, we started with a trip to the cafe to practise our hello's and thank you's (and a treat of course) then continued with trips to the park and green spaces, dog walks, outdoor exploring, stories and autumn-themed activities. 🌿🐾

Our outdoor adventures have supported physical development through walking, climbing, balancing and running, while also building confidence and awareness of the world around us. We’ve noticed seasonal changes, looked at plants and animals, talked about what we could see and hear, and used lots of new descriptive words along the way. 🍁

Our autumn pasta play gave the children opportunities to scoop, pour, sort and fill, developing fine motor control, hand-eye coordination and early maths skills such as comparing amounts, counting and noticing different shapes and colours. 🥄🔢

Story time and looking at books has supported communication and language, listening and attention, while playing alongside friends has encouraged sharing, turn-taking, interaction and forming relationships. 📚💬

Lots of learning through everyday play, exploration and new experiences. 💚

Nature walks are my favourite 😍

Today we enjoyed a lovely nature walk and woodland adventure. 🍂

We shared stories in the woods, practised early maths by counting, sorting and comparing our natural treasures, and supported language development through naming, describing, listening and interacting together.

So much development can happen from playing and being in nature 💚

☀️ It’s been a while since I posted! ☀️

I’ve been busy settling in some new faces and helping everyone feel happy and comfortable but I’m hoping to be more regular with pictures and posts again, so keep an eye out for more of our adventures, learning and fun times! 💚
