A strong defence creates even better attacks. ๐
When blocking the rear leg front kick, donโt overcommit. Keep the movement compact, rotate the body just enough to guide the kick safely to the outside, and maintain your distance so youโre ready to counter immediately.
Small movement. Big control. ๐ฅ
Inspired by hereโs part 1 of our studentโs favourite techniques ๐ฅ๐ฅ
๐ฅ Back Kick Setup Drill
Before the back kick works, you need to establish a threat with your rear leg kicks. Once your opponent starts reacting to them, the feint becomes much more believable.
Use an aggressive rear leg chamber to really sell the fake and force that reaction. As you land, finish slightly turned so the real back kick fires with minimal rotation and maximum speed.
Small details make a big difference.
Any other ways to set up the back kick? ๐
