This morning, before we all went to playground for a run around, and a climb, etc., we all tried to finger paint a template pictures of the sun, sunglasses and a suntan lotion bottle. They had to also had to match the colours to the pictures. They all tried very hard, and succeeded, to stay clean, (well almost!) and they painting some beautiful pictures.

This morning, we had major engineering works going on in the sandpit. Our children were creating a new river all the way from one water play table to a big hole that was already there. They kept checking their progress by tipping extra water in it to see how far the water would run.

This morning, our activity was child led and followed the children's interests. We were playing and pushing cars back and forth between us, so to extend the fun, I put strips of paper down the hallway and gave the children cars with plates of paint for them to put paint on their wheels. We then had fun making tracks with the paint as we pushed the cars back and forth along the hallway.

Today, we were invited by our childminding friend Anita at Little Rainbows Childcare, to join her at her setting for, Music and Movement with Lisa (Not our Lisa). We had a little play when we first arrived while we waited for Lisa to arrive. Once she arrived, we sat in a big circle together. Our children all sat beautifully and listened to singing Lisa. The children took it in turns to tap the tambourine and say hello. We then sang a song while tapping a Guiro (wooden instrument), fast, slow, loud and quite while singing. We sang while we were waving, scrunching and hiding under a scarf. We also met singing Lisa's Maisie and Morris mice and 3 baby mice. The session finished with us all laying quietly, listening to calm music. After singing Lisa, left we had a big picnic lunch, all together and finished our visit to Anita's with a little play.

Today we held the graduation of our two preschoolers. We re-capped their journey's with us and presented them with their Lisa Mills Childcare certificates. All of the other children sat beautifully while our ceremony took place. While we are sad to see them go, we are very excited for their next adventure.

A parent recommended a park to us. So today, we tried it out. The children couldn’t wait to get out of the minibus and into the playarea to go and explore. There was lots of different play equipment to explore such as climbing, balancing, spinning, swinging, etc. There was equipment to suit all ages and abilities. The spinning witches hat and big standing seesaw were definitely the most popular.

While out at the park, the children found an activity board where they could put their early maths to use, while playing. They had to move the numbered buttons to match the numbers in print and then move the number button to the correct amount of spots. Our preschoolers showed great knowledge and helped our rising preschoolers, while our younger child stood observing and listening to the numbers. This help all of their number recognition, counting, matching, and sorting.

This is one of our new starters. Today was her first full day, she was a bit of a hit with our other children, they all enjoyed introducing themselves and spending time bonding with her.

Today, we spent most of our day at Fermyn Woods. First, we had a play in the toddler area. On arriving there, we found that the rope loop to keep the gate closed was broken. So Graeme informed the Ranger, who came straight over and secured a new rope. Our children were excited to watch the Ranger at work, especially when the hammer came out! After a play we had a walk and climbed on the wooden animal sculptures, before sitting and having a picnic. Once our tummy's were full, we followed the red arrows on the post to get back out of the woods. We then finished with a play in the bigger playarea, before heading back to the minibus, emptying the sand(pit) from our shoes and returning to our setting.

After playing outside, going up and down the slide, running around and chasing footballs, we decided to come back inside. As we were all very warm we had a cool drink of milk. Then, we had a sit/lay and relax to watch Julia Donaldson's story of 'The Highway Rat', on the television.
