Aquarium 🐠 Class 1 had a great trip to the Aquarium today. We learnt a lot about sea creatures and also shared our own knowledge 🦀 Our favourites were the Octopus (who came out to say hello) and the Turtles 🐢 We finished our day with a play in the park and cooling off in the splash pad 💦

A huge thank you to everyone who attended Class 2’s Art Show at the Borrowdale Institute yesterday. Our Year 1 and Year 2 pupils were incredibly proud to showcase their wonderful artwork to parents, families and members of the local community.

The evening also featured an art auction and a selection of delicious treats made by the children, including elderflower cordial, wild garlic scones and redcurrant-chocolate truffles. Together with the entrance, these helped raise an amazing £101! The children will decide which charity to support with the money during their next RE lesson.

Thank you to all the staff, volunteer parents and supporters who helped make the event such a memorable success.

Bessyboot Fell Race - 8th July 2026

Please note that this year's Bessyboot Fell Race will be an adult race only.

Due to a bereavement the event will be organised by different people. We have unfortunately had to make the decision to strip the event back to its core and without the children's races.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming runners to the adult race.

What a fantastic School Sports Day! A huge well done to all of our pupils for their enthusiasm, determination and excellent teamwork throughout the day. Everyone gave their best and showed great sportsmanship. Thank you to everyone who came to support the children and who helped make the afternoon a success.

🎨 Art Show- everyone welcome! 🎨

Our whole school community is warmly invited to attend Class 2's Art Show next Tuesday at the Borrowdale Institute.

🗓 Date: Tuesday 7th July
🕠 Time: 5:30pm – 6:30pm
📍 Venue: Borrowdale Institute

The exhibition will showcase the fantastic artwork created by Class 2, alongside a selection of work from pupils in Class 1 and Class 3. We hope you'll come along to celebrate the children's creativity and hard work.

Refreshments will be available throughout the evening.

Admission: £1 per adult (children free). Please also bring some spare change, as we'll be holding a fun auction where you can bid on some of our finest pieces of artwork! All proceeds from the evening will be donated to a charity chosen by the children in Class 2.

For Class 2 children: If they would like to, they are welcome to come to school dressed smartly on Tuesday, as they will be hosting the rest of the school at the exhibition during the afternoon.

A reminder for Class 2 parents: Please bring a bag with you on the evening so you can take home the rest of your child's artwork from this school year.

We look forward to seeing you there for what promises to be a wonderful celebration of our young artists!
