Last week we hosted our DofE gold residential camps, these are some of the diverse highlights from the different groups!
You can see geology camp visiting a historic iron rich sandstone quarry that was formed when britain was in a desert belt.
You can see geography camp surveying a vital peat bog, measuring peat depth and using this information to work out how much carbon it is storing.
You can see a before and after showing amazing progress controlling invasive himilayan balsam along the river greta done by members of the adventure and conservation camp.
Naturally none of our residentials are complete without exciting activities to make the most of being in the Lake district like Canoeing on Derwent water and Ghyll scrambling up Honnister Ghyll.
Come join us for an adventure in 2027! π
