Bank holiday booking update

All three BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice CPD days are now confirmed and going ahead:

✅ Leeds – 22 June — 5 places left
✅ Birmingham – 6 July — 6 places left
✅ London – 13 July — confirmed

The early bird rate was due to end on Friday, but as schools have been closed over the bank holiday, I’m keeping the reduced £175 rate open until the end of Tuesday for anyone booking through a school PO / invoice process.

After that, the price will move to £195.

Quick CPD update (final decisions coming)

Now we’re into the first week back, I just wanted to give a clear update as I start locking things in:

✅ Leeds (22 June) — confirmed and going ahead
⚠️ Birmingham (6 July) — 1 more booking needed to run
⚠️ London (13 July) — 1 more booking needed to run
❌ Manchester (10 July) — won’t be going ahead this time

I know how busy this first week back is, and also that for some of you, moderation outcomes have felt a bit… unclear at times. These sessions are very much about making the standard feel clearer, more consistent, and easier to apply in practice.

CPD update: early bird extended

With Easter approaching and schools breaking up at different times, I know getting CPD signed off this week may be tricky, so I’ve extended the early bird rate until the end of April.

🎧 Music Production Skills for Non-Tech Teachers (BTEC Tech Award CPD)

I’m running a short 3-part webinar series over the next few Mondays designed to demystify the basics of music production for teachers who may not come from a music tech background.

The sessions focus on the core ideas behind working in a DAW — things like MIDI, audio, sampling and effects — explained in a clear, practical way for teachers supporting students with music production.

New in-person CPD for teachers delivering the BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice:

After a lot of conversations with teachers over the last year about the lack of face-to-face support for this qualification, I’ve decided to run a small series of in-person CPD days this summer focusing on Components 1 and 2.

The sessions will be practical, discussion-based and limited to small groups so that we can look closely at assessment expectations, common national issues, and approaches that help strengthen learner evidence.

Lunch and refreshments included.

If you’re delivering the course and want greater confidence around assessment and teaching approaches, these should be really useful days.

In Person Training Interest?

Happy New Term everyone. With exam boards only offering online CPD, I’m exploring whether there’s an appetite for independent, in-person CPD focused on assessment confidence and common pitfalls across the Music Practice components.
