🔍 Feedback for all students who took the mocks this week has now been emailed out to parents.

🔍 The email contains:
✅ A breakdown of your child's scores in all the papers
✅ A comparison with the scores of their peers - an average and a range
✅ Areas of strength
✅ Areas of focus going forward
✅ A comparison with the scores of students who sat the same paper around the same time over the last 2 years

🔥 The next set of Year 5 11+ mocks will be over Easter. Exact dates TBC.

✨⏱️Year 5 11+ Mocks - FEB HALF TERM 2026⏱️✨

✏️ This week, my Year 5s have been working hard on their first set of mock sessions.

✏️ These have always proven to be helpful to my students and they use them as guidance for which areas they are confident in and which need a little more practice.

✏️ Not only do we help to prepare with the tests themselves, but also the emotional side of sitting a test - especially for 9-10 year olds!

✏️ We talk a lot about the nerves and doubt which naturally creep in around test time and how to manage this. My aim is to help the children feel as confident as possible when they walk into their test hall on the day!

✏️ My students had so many questions this time! From the timings to how it works on the day to the results and everything in between! We will continue talking things through for the next few months!

✅ All feedback will be emailed over in the next week.

🔥 The next set of mocks will be over Easter and a final set in the Summer.

✨❤️ Christmas Holidays - Year 4 & 5 11+ Groups 💚✨

🎅🏻 A huge well done to my students who have all worked incredibly hard over the last two terms. The first couple of terms are always the busiest with the children settling in to the new groups and starting to become familiar with all of the new topics.

🎅🏻 We will now have a two-week break and return in the new year where we will pick up the hard work once again and continue to work through the areas of the Kent Test - in full force!

🎅🏻 Wishing all of my students and their families, past and present, a very Happy Christmas and New Year!

✨🧮 Year 4 Maths Assessment 🧮✨

🔍 My Year 4s have been working just as hard this term, with the last couple of weeks focused on a Maths assessment.

🔍 The test included a range of questions covering essential topics:
✅ timestables
✅ short division
✅ long multiplication
✅ mental arithmetic
✅ spellings
✅ a short writing task

🔍 Although the Kent test is far away for these children, these assessments will give a clear indication of which areas the children are already confident in and which need more work.

🔍 Once these areas have been mastered, it will make understanding of key Maths and English elements, which we will start to look at next term, much easier!

🔥 Full written and/or verbal feedback will be given to parents and the children over the next week.

✨📝 Year 5 Writing Task 📝✨

✏️ A huge well done to all my Year 5s who took part in their first writing assessment of the year.

✏️ Last week’s homework involved planning a piece of writing based on a choice of tasks. They were to pick one and spend 20 minutes making notes on what they would include in their writing.

✏️ In today’s lesson, the children were given 30 minutes to write a story, using their best writing skills! Spellings, punctuation, grammar and the story structure are all key parts of their final piece.

✏️ Today’s session will have given them an idea of what 30 minutes actually feels like and how much realistically they should aim to write on the big day, where they will be given 10 minutes to plan a piece of writing and then 30 minutes to write.

🔥 Full written and verbal feedback will be given to the children individually next lesson.
