So what has Hysterical History been up to today?
Well, Dr Digby Rocks the archaeologist did his yearly visit to a school in Sussex for their usual history topic albeit with a twist this year.This year the topic was called 'Underground' so we invented a new way to explain how history is discovered beneath our feet with this walk through picture that all children were involved in, mainly because the stupid teacher wouldn't let us dig a hole in the classroom!
So we drew our eras and then thought all about what rubbish we might find going through history. A very well enjoyed and inspiring activity that will now feature in all further workshops on Archaeology.

Big arigato to the team at Iron Mountain Armory
Just received a couple of bits I ordered to find it full of bits I wasn't expecting. 😍
Especially loved the personalised war fan! I love personalised stuff hence why I have so many suits of their armour. All of this treasure will from this day forward feature in our Samurai displays here in the UK and with my fan I now feel like some kind of promotional war lord for Iron Mountain.
Much waving of it shall be done I can assure you.

Well I am very pleased to say that Hysterical History has certainly left its mark on the Welsh castles with another enquiry in today for the third castle for next year, 2027.
This year we attended Kidwelly Castle for a one off trip (as is a little further than we usually would travel) but because of outstanding feedback from the public the castle booked us for 2027 within one month of us leaving there. Now we have two South Wales castles with prospective bookings for 2027 and one North Wales castle.
We are going from strength to strength and getting into some of the best heritage places!
Some other new exciting projects at some very well known history and heritage sites are also on the books for 2027 but I'm keeping them back for nearer the time!
If you do well, and the people love you, this reflects upon their memories of the place they've visited. No matter how many likes you dont get, its just the bookings that keep coming in that matter.

Little trip to Faversham yesterday with some friends for lunch produced a couple of nice little finds.
Originally went down to replace a WW1 fuze from one of our displays that went walk about at a show recently, still suspect a reenactor as this isn't the first time its happened but thanks to D.A.K MILITARIA for producing the usual reliable goods for fair prices.
Also picked up this massive sign a great price from Mudlarks which I think sums up what we do when it comes to our Bomb Disposal Awareness workshops for the public.....although we know they still will.

A rather testing night teaching dinosaurs and fossils to experts. Some of the world's best Palaeontologists attended tonight's lecture with all attendees showing of their knowledge on their shirt sleeves. A varied age group on 3 stints tested my standing as Dr Digby Rocks the renowned Palaeontologist and I think i did all right. The badges, free fossils and mini dinosaur helped sway them experts to agree they had an awesome night. Apparently we are going back for a different workshop! Bonus

Today's workshop was, Is, our most popular by far with a trip down WW2 to learn all about life as a kid growing up with bombs, bullets and shrapnel falling all about you.
The children were taken on a trip as child evacuees and created their own evacuee labels aswell as learning the importance of carrying their ID CARDS at all times..otherwise there's a clip round the ear waiting! Then they were taken through Royal Engineers bomb disposal training which everyone failed at, yet they still received their badge and bullet pen! Lots of positive feedback and great fun had.

After today's WW2 workshop we are jumping back into prehistory with Dr Digby Rocks with a look at fossils, dinosaurs and the world of Palaeontology.
The local scout, cubs and beavers are all having an evening of our workshops as a treat! Thats free badges and free fossils all round then!

From Samurai to WW2
Thus week we are back with the Home Education groups fir one if their favoured workshops, Fantastic Bombs and Where To Find Them which is a look at growing up as a kid in WW2.
Hysterical History brings the history alive with such learning activities as Air Raid training in our mobile Anderson shelter, Child Evacuee selection, bomb disposal training and so much more all finalised with a passing out parade and badge ceremony.
