😴Tonight's the night! Did you decide to gradually adjust for the clock change or are you going with the flow?

⏰ If you'd like to help your little one adjust you still can. Just move their bedtime to 30 minutes later tonight and this should help with an early wake tomorrow.

👉🏼 Let me know what you decided to do and how it works out for you, good luck!

⏰ Daylight savings ends at 2am on 30th October, when the clocks go back an hour. You may be dreading your already early mornings, becoming even earlier as the clocks fall back, but there's no need to worry.

👉 There are 3 simple methods for adjusting your little one to the change (and one of them involves doing nothing at all).

⏰ 1 - The Slow Shift, gradually nudge the bedtime routine later each night. Start on Wednesday by pushing bedtime back by 15 minutes. Move later by another 15 minutes each evening, until Saturday, when little one will be going to bed an hour later (this works well for small babies who still nap and younger children).

⏰ 2 - The Half and Half, by delaying the bedtime routine by half an hour on Saturday evening, then another 30 minutes on Sunday to catch up (suitable for younger babies who aren't used to a strict routine, as well as older children)

⏰ 3 - The All In, don't alter anything just jump straight into the change! This method can work best for flexible babies or older children as they are less sensitive to time changes.

💫 Top Tip! If you use a Gro-Clock, don't forget to alter the time on it appropriately, as you go.

😴 Which ever approach you decide on, your little one may take up to a week to fully adjust. Remember to remain consistent with the new timings (inc naps, meal times, bath time etc) and things will soon be back to normal.

👉🏼 Most importantly, try not to let the clock change worry you or cause you anxiety. Don't feel like you have to do anything, if you'd rather go the flow, option 3 is a good way to go.

🙌 White noise provides a consistent, calming sound, similar to that in the womb which also has the benefit of masking any external noise...sudden loud sounds, traffic or older siblings that would otherwise wake little ones as they cycle through lighter stages of sleep.

💤 The familiar, comforting sound, also helps soothe them back to sleep, should they wake. This magic sound acts as a sleep cue for your little one when you switch it on, their brains tell them it's time for sleep 💫

💪 There’s no need to worry about it being a sleep prop…it isn’t! You just switch it on and don’t need to do anything else, until you switch it off in the morning.

Things to remember:
👉 White noise should be played at a volume similar to a running tap.
👉 Don’t place the playing device near your little one’s head.
👉 Keep the sound playing consistently throughout the night.
👉 Use white, brown or pink noise. Not rainfall, waves or other sound as they are not composed in the same way and are therefore not as effective.

☀️ We all love the hot summer days that we are currently enjoying but it can be tricky to know what to dress your little one in, in this heat 🥵Dressing them appropriately based on the temperature of their room prevents overheating, so here's a handy little chart to help you out 🤗

👉Also, an oscillating fan in little one's room is a great idea during hot summer nights, not only does it circulate the air to keep baby cool but it also provides some white noise to soothe them to sleep 😴
✨Always oscillate the fan, or face it towards a wall, to avoid having it directly on your baby✨

Enjoy the sunshine and stay safe!

😱Learning to walk is a whole lot of fun as well as being one of the big energy takers for our little ones and a huge developmental milestone. Sleep is very often disrupted during this stage, as all the excitement of practicing this new skill, makes it harder for their busy brains to switch off and fall asleep or re-settle back to sleep.

💤 Not every baby's sleep will be effected around this time, but sometimes parents begin to see their usually great little sleeper, start to resist nap and bed times or to wake frequently during the night. But everybody stay calm! The procedure here is to not worry, it is just a phase and your little one should return to sleeping well, as soon as they have perfected their new skill! Help them by practicing lots during the day and have fun exploring this new adventure with them 🤍
