Learning Lab - Thoracic surgery mega learning lab; 4 stations, 4 new skills

Thursday, 8 October 2026

📍 EACTS Learning Lab

This 2-hour session brings together four practical thoracic stations, allowing participants to rotate through each station and gain hands-on exposure to contemporary techniques and problem-solving strategies.

🔹 Four stations. One intensive learning experience.
1️⃣ Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction
Explore contemporary bronchoscopic approaches to lung volume reduction, with practical insights from experienced thoracic specialists.
2️⃣ Thoracoscopic Surgery on Simulators & Air Leak Management
Develop and refine thoracoscopic skills using simulation, while addressing one of the most common practical challenges after thoracic surgery: persistent air leaks.
3️⃣ External Rib Fixation & Cryoanalgesia
A focused hands-on station covering modern surgical stabilization of rib fractures together with cryoanalgesia, combining chest wall reconstruction with contemporary strategies for pain control.
4️⃣ Airway Stenting
Learn about the practical principles and techniques of airway stenting, including decision-making and procedural considerations in complex airway disease.
