This weekend, one of our amazing babysitters had the joy of caring for a little one while her parents celebrated a beautiful wedding in the Lake District 💍

We’re so excited to introduce Claire 💛

Claire has been part of the Night Owls team for over five years, providing trusted, reliable childcare for families across Kendal & the Lakes ✨

She currently works in Children’s Services and has done so for the past eight years, alongside over 25 years of experience working with children and families. Claire also holds a Diploma in Early Years and has a strong background in safeguarding and child development 🧸

Previously, Claire worked for Barnardo’s as a Family Support Worker and is a qualified childcare assessor, supporting and training newly qualified childminders—bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to every family she supports 💛

Outside of work, Claire enjoys holidays, good food, and spending time with her family and her Labrador, Obie 🐾✨

Abi is a dedicated Nursery Practitioner at a local nursery and has worked in childcare for over 13 years, giving her extensive experience caring for children of all ages ✨

She has been babysitting for the past 4 years and brings a calm, caring and reliable approach to every family she supports 🧸

Abi is:

✔️ Level 3 Safeguarding trained
✔️ Fully DBS checked
✔️ Fully insured
✔️ Full driving licence

Abi also holds a special place in our hearts, as she was one of the nursery practitioners who cared for my own children—so I can personally recommend her as well as professionally 💛

Hi, I’m Lucy 😊

I’m the proprietor of Night Owls and your main point of contact for all bookings 💛

I’ve been a Registered Nurse since 2015, and alongside this, I’ve been babysitting for Night Owls since 2010—giving me over 16 years of hands-on experience caring for children of all ages ✨

In my previous role, I worked as a Dementia Specialist Nurse, which has given me a calm, compassionate and highly attentive approach to care—something I bring into every babysitting role 🧸

As a mum of three, I understand just how important it is to feel confident and comfortable leaving your children, and I always aim to create a safe, nurturing and fun environment 💛

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors in the Lake District with my amazing children, family and friends—and of course my two Labradors, Willow & Dottie 🐾✨
