We are blown away to announce 📣 that we have been shortlisted as FINALISTS for this year’s Golden Apple Awards in the Most Inclusive category. Inclusion and equity is the foundation of our ethos and daily practice, so there isn’t a more humbling or appropriate category for us to be nominated for. It’s our genuine pleasure, and the progress we observe each young person make is abundant in its own reward. Mighty Oak Kendal visited Abbot Hall Art Gallery in town today. Our guide, Annie, gave us a tour of the gallery this morning, telling us about the paintings in the collection and encouraging us to have a go at sketching some of the pieces. This afternoon we created our own versions of some of the portraits in the collection, focusing particularly on how we can use different colours to represent skin tones. It was a fabulous day, and Annie was incredibly impressed by all our wonderful students. 🌳 🎨 ✍️ 👏
