A total of 185 grades were improved across GCSE English Language and maths, including 103 students who improved their English grade and 82 who improved their maths grade.

The college recorded an overall pass rate of 98 per cent in GCSE English Language, with 309 learners passing the qualification and 74 achieving a grade 4 or above.

In GCSE maths, 97 per cent of learners passed, with 334 students achieving the qualification and 47 getting a grade 4 or above.

Students enrolled on Level 2 courses also achieved strong results across a range of subjects.

The college reported a 100 per cent pass rate in plumbing, with 83 per cent of students achieving high grades, while creative arts students achieved a 98 per cent pass rate, with 52 per cent securing high grades.

Health and social care students recorded a 94 per cent pass rate, with 66 per cent achieving high grades, while business students achieved a 91 per cent pass rate with 35 per cent achieving high grades.

Reflecting on the latest achievements, Mr Turton said: “Today brings to life much of the progress recognised by Ofsted. It's about seeing learners make progress, achieve their qualifications and begin looking ahead with confidence to what comes next.

We want every learner who comes through Kendal College to leave with greater confidence, stronger skills and a clear next step, whatever their starting point or ultimate ambition."

🎉 GCSE Student Success 🎉

A huge well done to Leon Fothergill, who has successfully completed his Multi Skills Construction Level 1 qualification and, alongside his course, passed his GCSE Maths!!!

Leon has now taken the next exciting step in his career and started his apprenticeship with Volker Stevin Contracting Ltd. , working on flood defence projects.

From developing his construction skills to achieving his Maths qualification and progressing into an apprenticeship, Leon’s hard work is paying off!

🎉 GCSE Student Success! 🎉

Adult Learner Rebecca has completed both her GCSE English and Maths this year and is now looking ahead to an Access to HE course with us next year, which will enable her to follow her dream of studying Midwifery at University. 🩷
