One of the special causes I wanted to support through our 40 for 40 run was making sure that children have access to high quality inspiring books.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who donated, I’m delighted that £1600 has been shared with Bookwagon Limited, enabling five primary schools from across the country to purchase new books for their pupils.

I’ve also used some of the money shared with Bookwagon to purchase 40 very special books for the children at school. Next week we will launch our 40 books to read before you leave Old Hutton challenge.

Frankie has enjoyed looking through all the new books as well as playing in the box they came in!

A huge thank you to Bookwagon for all your help and to everyone who donated. 📚

🌲 We are incredibly lucky to have our own woodland area on site, which we use regularly to inspire outdoor learning, exploration, creativity and adventure.

📚 We also currently have places available in all year groups, so if you are considering a move to Old Hutton, we would love to welcome you for a visit.

Class Three finished their ‘Lost Spells’ project. They put together their poems and pictures inspired by both Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris. What beautiful work!

Thank you to all the Year Six families that came to yesterday’s Year Six Leavers Service. It was a brilliant to hear all their special memories and to talk about the love we have for all our pupils.

💙 A Huge Thank You! 💙

We would like to say a huge thank you to one of our amazing school parents, Chris, along with Miss Brown and her partner Tom, for creating this wonderful film of our 40 for 40 Mile Run. Their time, talent and generosity have captured the spirit of this incredible challenge perfectly, leaving us with a lasting memory of a very special event.

Thanks to the phenomenal support of our school community, we raised an incredible £4,970!

The money raised will support three very important causes:
💙 Winston's Wish
⚽ The Poppy Atkinson Football Trust
📚 A special children's book fund.

Working in partnership with Bookwagon Limited, schools from across the country will each receive £150 to spend on books, helping to inspire a love of reading and put wonderful new books into the hands of children.

To everyone who ran, donated, cheered us on and helped make this event such a success – thank you. Together, you've made a real difference, and we couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved as a school community.

Food, glorious fooooood 🎶...
Class Four did an incredible job today, using their own recipes and applying their hygiene knowledge to prepare and cook a delicious pasta dish!

We were very impressed by their composure in the kitchen, listening skills, patience with tricky bits (no one likes peeling an onion) and the range of appetizing results.

Think we have some future chefs in class.

Class Two have been learning about poetry this term. Today they have learnt, created and performed the rhyming poem ‘At the Seaside’ by Robert Louis Stevenson 🌊🪏🏖️
They hope you enjoy watching their performance.

This morning, Class 1 visited the wildlife area and showed excellent creativity while making faces with play dough and natural materials. The children explored textures, shapes and colours with great enthusiasm. Their creativity was impressive, and they worked thoughtfully and imaginatively throughout the activity.
