This week, Class One have been reading the delightful story Leaf Man. The children engaged well with the text and completed a range of activities to extend their learning about autumn. They printed pictures of Leaf Man and created their own Leaf Men on the loose parts table using leaves. They also explored the magic of leaf rubbing, observing the different shapes, patterns and textures revealed by the leaves.

Class One have enjoyed reading a wide range of books about autumn. Alongside their reading, the children have been practising their cutting skills, including snipping, cutting along straight lines, and cutting around leaves. They have shown great perseverance and teamwork while making their own autumn tree. Through this practical activity, the children developed their fine motor control, coordination, ability to work collaboratively, and sense of shared responsibility throughout the process. They are very proud of what they have achieved.

Class Two have been reading a story about a Leaf Man and his friend, Hazel the Hedgehog.
We have been planning and writing our own Leaf Man stories, using our imaginations to create our own adventures.
We went on a leaf and stick hunt around the school playground before using our autumn treasures to create our very own Leaf Man characters. 🍂

Class 3 have enjoyed learning how to sketch eyes today. They took their time and showed such care when applying different amounts of pressure when using a pencil. They also used different pencil types to shade.
