Hello Ednam Nursery Ednam Nursery is a small Council-run nursery setting at Ednam Primary School, just 2 miles from Kelso in the Scottish Borders. Open spaces for 3-5 year olds.

Weโ€™re really pleased to be able to share some exciting news with our nursery and school community following recent discussions. Scottish Borders Council has now confirmed that Ednam ELC will continue to offer a full-time Early Learning and Childcare service from August 2026 due to unprecedented demand for our nursery spaces, following the winter nursery enrolment period. ๐ŸŒผ

We know this will come as welcome news to many local families, and we want to thank everyone whose continued involvement makes our nursery one of the Kelso area's strongest options in terms of rural setting, our amazing staff, the building/outdoor environment, and the sense of community that surrounds our children as they learn and grow in a shared ELC/school estate at Ednam Primary School.

๐ŸŒŸ We are very much open, active, and looking forward to welcoming new children and families in August 2026.

Alongside this positive news, our staff team and Parent Council are already thinking about the future. We have exciting plans to further enhance our outdoor learning environment, including hopes to purchase a yurt to create a unique, sheltered space for play, storytelling, and learning outdoors.

Itโ€™s been a busy few weeks in our Early Level class, where our nursery and P1 children have been learning side by side through play, creativity, and exploration. ๐ŸŒˆ

๐ŸŽฅ We loved this new video from Ednam Primary Schoolโ€™s page, showing just a few of the adventures theyโ€™ve been up to โ€“ from spotting patterns in nature and making art with pumpkins, to Halloween games, sandpit fun, small world play, and homemade playdough!

And just last week, our nursery and primary children invited parents to join us outdoors to toast marshmallows over the fire pit โ€“ learning about safety, food preparation, and community spirit (with plenty of sticky smiles to show for it!). ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ˜Š

These shared experiences capture so much of what makes Ednam special โ€“ a small, nurturing environment where play and learning go hand in hand. ๐Ÿ’›

A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Toddler Play Morning yesterday, on Tuesday 11 November โ€“ it was such a lovely, relaxed morning full of play, parent-staff chats, and laughter. ๐Ÿ’›

The children had a wonderful time exploring, making new friends, and sharing stories โ€“ including one very creative tale where The Hungry Caterpillar ate Goldilocks (donโ€™t worry, she was still alive!) before the three bears joined in too. ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿป๐Ÿ“–
