Help Us Refresh our KHS Library!

We're excited to be updating and refreshing the range of books in our KHS Library, helping us to continue inspiring a love of reading for enjoyment across the school.

Our learners can also look forward to some exciting new KHS Library Clubs, offering even more ways to get involved, discover new books and enjoy reading.

More KHS Sporting Success!

Following on from Evie's fantastic athletics achievement, we are delighted to celebrate another impressive sporting success!

Huge congratulations to Arthur Pollhammer in S5, who spent the final week of the summer holidays in Vasteras, Sweden, taking part in an international training camp with the Great Britain U19 Floorball Team.

Arthur and his teammates trained hard throughout the week and put their skills into practice in three games against local Swedish teams, all in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers in September.

Representing Great Britain at this level is a truly fantastic achievement and reflects the commitment, determination and drive for excellence that we are always so proud to see in our KHS learners.

Well-done, Arthur - and the very best of luck to you and Team GB for the qualifiers in September.

Outstanding Success at a National Level for Evie!

Huge congratulations to Evie Leonard in S4, who achieved an absolutely amazing second place in the Girls U16 800m at the Scottish National Championships on Saturday.

To achieve second place in a national competition is an exceptional achievement and a fantastic example of our KHS Values of Determination and Excellence. We know just how much hard work, commitment and dedication goes into competing at this level. Evie, we are incredibly proud of you and all that you have achieved. Well-done from everyone at KHS!

S1 Meta Skills in Action! Our S1 learners have begun exploring Meta Skills - important skills for learning that can be developed and used across school, in work and for life.

One of the first challenges for Mrs Changleng's and Mrs Weir's classes was to create a free-standing structure using just six sheets of A4 paper and 50cm of masking tape. The tallest structure wasn't the required outcome - what really mattered was how effectively learners communicated, organised themselves and showed resilience when things didn't quite go to plan.

Throughout session 2026-2027, all S1 learners will continue to develop three key Meta Skills - Communication, Organisation and Resilience - learning to recognise when they use these Meta Skills and how they can develop them further. Monday really was a fantastic start to putting our Meta Skills learning into action. Well-done, S1!

Congratulations to our KHS Head Team! A huge well done to Fraser, Lewis, Ellie and Lucy on a fantastic start to the new school term. They have already shown great leadership, enthusiasm and commitment to our KHS community.

We're incredibly proud to have them representing KHS and can't wait to work alongside them throughout session 2026-2027.

Over the next few weeks, each member of our Head Team will be introducing themselves individually on KHS Social Media, giving us the chance to find out a little bit more about them, their interests and what they hope to bring to their role. We can't wait to learn more about them.

KHS Dress Code - Thank You! A huge thank you to all our families for your support with our KHS Dress Code as we begin the new school year.

We have been incredibly proud of how smart young people across all year groups have looked as they have returned to school. It has been absolutely fantastic to see so many learners starting the new term ready to learn and showing real KHS PRIDE in being part of our school community.

Our KHS Dress Code allows for a range of choices and it has been great to see the different ways our learners wear their KHS uniform, while still looking smart, comfortable and ready to learn. Thank you to all our learners and families for your continued support!
