EEEEEKKK...!

A warning - when complacency and eejitry combine in harmony - this can happen.

This Hedgelayer forgot the pole-saw for cutting high limbs on an overstood hedge. So the eejit then proceeded to overreach with the chainsaw - until the wind slammed a limb down and drove the saw into my thigh ! Were it not for an instinctive recoil of the leg, the damage might have been more serious than slaughtered breeks.

Early and late in the season when working days are warmer, chainsaw PPE often seems like a cumbersome and hot burden - however, it's definitely never something to skimp on, as the photo shows. And the other lesson is, as always, use the right equipment and DINNAE be an eejit.

A successful outcome.

After gentle warming, drying-out wing and tail feathers, then some crude preening by me he was ready to go - so he did !
