Wow just Wow what a day at our Breast Cancer Now afternoon tea yesterday. We have raised over £1,000 for Breast Cancer Now and there are still raffle tickets available until 25th August 2026. Thanks to everyone who supported the cause. Where do you start to say thanks without missing out someone but I will try. First of all a huge thanks to Christine and her team at Clochan Community Centre for hosting the event. To Maurice Gibson MBE Deputy Leuitenant for Banffshire for coming along and saying a few kind words about the event. To Tescos for their donation of cup cakes, to the Deli in Keith for their kind donation, to Anne Geddes for the sandwiches, to Wendy for the yummy meringues, to the ladies at Clochan for their tray bakes etc, to Coleen (one of our directors) for the yummy tablet, and to those who helped make the pancakes thank you. To Shelly for her lovely donation of a Pink themed Hamper for our raffle (another one of our directors) To KBM for their voucher. Thank you Kevin (another one of our directors) To Shears Hair and Beauty for their donation to the raffle and to Eclipse hairdressers for their donation as well. To Bairds Pharmacy for the kind donation. To Brian (my ever patient husband) for supporting the event with the decorations and much more in memory of his sister who sadly had Breast Cancer. For all those who bought raffles thank you. To the Keith and District Silver Band who came along and entertained us yesterday thank you. For the Strathisla Dancers tartan used in the raffle items, we acknowledge that it was Abbie Nicoll who was 10 years old when she designed it and was one of the winners in our tartan competition. Abbie is now 12 and we were delighted that she came along yesterday with her family as our guest. Her Granny Marjory is making her a Dancers kilt out of the Strahisla Dancers Tartan. I am sure I have missed someone out but if I have I didn't mean to so thank you. We keep in mind all those who have been touched by Breast Cancer personally or through knowing someone who has had it or is dealing with it. Our thoughts are with you all. Hopefully our monies raised will help with research and support. Again a huge thanks..... Take care x

Friday / Saturday Jobs Available

We have 2 positions available behind our deli counter.

One is Friday 12-5pm (or after school) and Saturday 8am-4pm. The second is just Saturday 8am-4pm.

Responsibilities would include serving customers at the deli counter, preparing fruit & veg, preparing sandwich fillings and general cleaning.

All monies got to Breast Cancer Now

We are almost there for our Breast Cancer Now Afternoon Tea at the Clochan Community Centre on Sunday the 16th August 2026 from 1pm to 4pm. Please see poster below.

We have been so lucky to have the committee of the Clochan Community Centre host the event.

Also the Keith and District Silver Band playing from 2pm to 4pm.

The community have stepped up to support us with the raffle, providing food for the event and generally supporting us to make the event possible. We will post a list of those who have been amazing after the event is over as people are still being so kind.

It’s all for a very worthwhile cause and the raffle will be drawn at Clochan Community Centre at their coffee morning on the 25th August so you still have time to buy a ticket or two.

30 years since the then Keith Kilt School now Moray Textile Project T/A Keith Kilt and Textile Centre became an SQA approved centre to train kiltmakers (now Qualifications Scotland).

We are now a Social Enterprise with Charitable status and have been since 2005. What is Social Enterprise? It is when all monies raised is reinvested into the original aim which is to train kilt makers and provide textile courses when required. The charitable status is for the kilt making tuition and the shop front is to provide extra income for the charity. We are all voluntary directors and Linda who runs the company is a voluntary chair.

We are signing up for another five years. Time to celebrate I feel a competition coming on. Details to follow very soon. To celebrate the hundreds of kiltmakers that we have trained. Some have made one kilt and some have gone on to gain their SQA certificate and to set up their own businesses.

We feel so honoured to have trained so many students in the Age old Art of Traditional Kilt making. Such an amazing skill now taught by Linda Gillies our tutor…..feel free to share especially as we are the Original Kilt School in Scotland.

Another busy week with Wee Scallywags and the Mega Summer Sale in the shop at the front of the Keith Kilt and Textile Centre.

Kilt making training is still ongoing on a Friday and a Saturday.
