Disability Pride Month is about self-esteem, pride and confidence, enjoyment, education and activism. It aims to highlight that disabled people are here on their own terms.
The different colours of the Disability Pride flag respresent:
• Black space: represents disabled people who have lost their life not only to their illness but also to su***de negligence and eugenics
• Lightning bolt: the shape represents the lateral lives that many disabled people live
• Blue: Represent mental illness
• Yellow: Represents cognitive and intellectual disabilities
• White: Stands for invisible/undiagnosed disabilities
• Green: Represents sensory perception disabilities
• Red: Represents physical disabilities
