What a fantastic final day we've had together before our exciting new adventure into Year 1! 🌟

Our Reception children have made us so proud this year. They have grown in confidence, made wonderful friendships, shown kindness, curiosity and resilience, and achieved so much along the way.

Today has been full of smiles, laughter and special memories as we celebrated everything we've accomplished together. We know each and every one of our children is more than ready for their next chapter, and we can't wait to see them continue to shine in Year 1.

Big thanks to our wonderful PTA, raising funds throughout the year to give our children that little bit extra.
Today we enjoyed an ice cream treat in the sunshine.
Last week we held our last donut day of the year on the playground bringing everyone together over food.
It's been a great year of fundraising so a huge thanks to everyone in the PTA and everyone that has supported our PTA, it really does make a difference to our children.

Another busy day for Y4 in York at Murton Park being Anglo-Saxons for the day. We made candles, learnt how to write and fight like an Anglo-Saxon as well as playing an Anglo-Saxon game! Then it was back to our accommodation for our tea before settling in for the night to watch the football. Come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

🧸☀️ Last week, our Tadpoles class had a wonderful time celebrating National Teddy Bear Picnic Day!

We made the most of the beautiful sunshine by taking our favourite teddy bears outside for a lovely picnic. The children enjoyed sharing snacks with their cuddly friends, chatting together, and spending time in the fresh air.

It was a fantastic opportunity to encourage imaginative play, social interaction, and create some very special memories.

Yesterday, our Y4 children had a fantastic but very busy first day in York! We explored history at ‘dig’ where we became archaeologists, saw the incredible York Minster, walked down the shambles and learnt the history of chocolate in York at the chocolate story (as well as getting to try lots of chocolate!). We even got to see some street performers! After a lovely tea of pizza and chips, we had some free time on the field before winding down for bed. Everybody is having a fantastic time and we are excited for day two today!!

25 years of Riddlesden St Marys on our current site.
We celebrated the day through art, music and history. The children created pieces of art and creative writing that were displayed for all to see when we opened our gates welcoming families, ex pupils and the wider community to explore our school.

🐛🦋Year 5’s butterflies 🐛🦋

Over the last few weeks, year 5 have explored the life cycle of a caterpillar and watched them turn into butterflies as part of their science topic this term.

The children loved watching the change, even setting up an iPad to capture the moment they emerged as butterflies. We spent a few days feeding, exploring and studying them before releasing them into the world 😊

In Geography club today, children went on a ‘photo safari’ in our school grounds to find evidence of Geography. Children were tasked with taking a picture on their iPad of something related to geography, these included:
Something natural
Evidence of humans changing the environment
Signs of erosion or weathering
A living thing
A rainbow of colours
An animals home and
A hidden corner of our school grounds.

These are some of the pictures we took, can you guess which ones they link to? 📸🌳🪻

Tadpoles and Frogs had an exciting visit from Ian's Mobile Farm.
Ian brought his farm into school giving our children a magical experience.
They were able to handle the animals, learn how to take care of the animals and understand the importance of protecting animals.
The children had the most fabulous day and made memories to last forever.
