We've got an exciting schedule of activities lined up for you for our Roman Village Fete this bank holiday weekend ⚔️

We will be joined all weekend by the Roman Military Research Society with stalls showing Roman artifacts, fashion, weaponry and more. They will be doing live demonstrations throughout the day including firing a replica Roman ballista!

Children's tickets include unlimited access to bouncy castles, soft play, crafts, cookie decorating, face painting and games plus a free Xplorer challenge pack.

We will also be joined by the wonderful UK Fiddlesticks who will be offering willow weaving workshops throughout the weekend!

Entry to the visitor village on Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be ticketed with the wider reserve being open as normal to visitors and temporary toilets available on the main car park.

Well thats our Summer holidays done ✨️
We have had some fantastic groups, individuals and families attend and appreciate you all. The weather changes today are crazy but as we have had so much sunshine and glorious heat, we can't complain.
Time to start getting ready to go back to timetables and don't forget the Saturday sessions start in 2 week 9.30-11 with forest school leader Cheryl who is going to be working at The Young Explorers Forest school for me a few days a week. 🌳♥️

So this! 🌳♥️

Outdoor learning does not begin when we put out the tuff tray.

It does not begin when we introduce the resources.

And it does not begin when the adult gathers everyone together.

Learning may begin when a child notices:
🍂 A puddle that was not there yesterday.
🍂 A feather caught in the grass.
🍂 A shadow moving across the ground.
🍂 A stick that is heavier than expected.
🍂 A snail slowly crossing the path.

Children do not wait for us to create learning opportunities.

They are already exploring, testing, wondering and making connections.

Our role is not always to manufacture more learning.

Sometimes, it is to become confident enough to notice what is already happening.
That is the starting point of Nature Practitioner Level 1.

Through Wild Pedagogy and The Wild Lens, we help practitioners slow down, recognise the learning within ordinary outdoor moments and respond with greater confidence.

Comment LEVEL 1 and we will send you the course details.
