A great start to the new school year at Ardfern! 🌟

We would like to congratulate one of our S5 pupils who has joined the Scottish Youth Council through an opportunity offered by the school. This is a fantastic experience and one that will help build confidence, develop new skills and support future applications.

A number of our senior pupils have also signed up for part-time college placements this year, with courses including Creative Industries, Professional Cookery and Travel & Tourism.

There are lots of exciting opportunities ahead for our pupils this year, and it’s great to see them putting themselves forward, trying something new and making the most of what is available to them.

We’re looking forward to seeing where these opportunities take them! ⭐

🎣 At Ardfern, trips like our visit to Pinewood Trout Fishery are about much more than fishing.

These experiences give our young people valuable opportunities to build important meta skills such as communication, critical thinking, collaboration, curiosity and self-management. Through new challenges and real-life experiences, pupils develop confidence, resilience and skills that will support them in school, work and everyday life.

We are proud of the way our pupils continue to grow, support one another and represent the school so positively.

🎣 What a day at Pinewood Trout Fishery!

Pupils demonstrated excellent self-management, teamwork and initiative – they should be proud of the effort they put in all day.

🐑🚜 Farm to Fork at Duncan’s Farm, Drymen 🌱

We’ve been visiting Duncan’s Farm in Drymen as part of our Farm to Fork topic, learning all about where our food comes from. Pupils were warmly welcomed by Sally and Rebekah, who were fantastic with the children and shared lots of interesting information about the life cycle of lambs and calves.

Everyone loved feeding the lambs and enjoyed a wee trailer tractor ride around the farm! It was a wonderful outdoor learning experience where pupils explored local produce, sustainability, and the journey from farm to fork. 🌾🐄
