☀️ SUMMER CAMP WEEK 2 ☀️

Brilliant last couple of days of this weeks camp as we got the team ready for their gradings today

Thursday was a mix of team building, games and grading prep

Friday was serious heads on as the group focussed on getting through their grades.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 OBs Child Protection Team 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

At the start of 2026 we started building a child protection team within the gym to help make sure that kids and coaches are training and working within a safe environment

We asked some of our gym community if they had the relevant experience or passion to help us achieve this.

We had the following parents step forward to assist us :

Over the last few months the team have been using experience from their roles within the care sector to information and training from online courses to help us safeguard our gym

They hosted their first meeting with our coaches in March this year and passed on vital information and hand outs to our coaching team. We will host these meetings twice per year.

Within the gym we will have an information board with all of our procedures and certificates contained. Lists of our coaches who are first aid trained and acting fire marshals are also available.

In 2025 the gym was accepted to be part of the PVG scheme and in the coming months we will be applying for refreshers for existing coaches and first time applications for our new junior coaches.

Towards the end of 2026 we will select the next group, mostly teenage students, for first aid training as we look to progress our students to the next level where hopefully they can become future coaches.

Our gym and coaches are fully insured as are our fight shows.

Lots of work going on behind the scenes to make sure we can give our students the very best environment

We can only do this with the support from our gym members with payment of monthly fees, support at our events, support from our sponsors and volunteers taking up roles within the gym
