📚🐛 Reading Day Fun at Lunchtime! 🐛📚
It was a ‘Reading Day’ themed lunch today, thanks to our amazing kitchen team! They transformed the serving hatch with fantastic decorations and even dressed up as The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
The children loved seeing the colourful display, which brought a favourite story to life and added an extra sprinkle of excitement to the day. A huge thank you to our wonderful catering staff for embracing the theme and helping make Reading Day so memorable for everyone.

🚒 Elms had a fantastic time visiting a fire engine in our school yard today. They had a go of using the hose onto the yard before actually getting inside the fire engine themselves. Elms loved the experience as most had never been in an actual fire engine before. It was very exciting! 🚒

🚒 Everyday Heroes Visit Fellgate! 🚒

As part of our learning about Everyday Heroes, the children were thrilled to welcome firefighters and a real fire engine into school today!
The visit gave our pupils the opportunity to learn all about the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe. They explored the fire engine, discovered some of the specialist equipment used in emergencies, and asked lots of fantastic questions.

The highlight of the day was definitely getting the chance to sit inside the fire engine and have a go at using the fire hose! There were smiles, excitement and plenty of enthusiasm as the children experienced first-hand what it might be like to be a firefighter.

A huge thank you to the firefighters for taking the time to visit us and inspire our children. What a memorable way to bring our learning about Everyday Heroes to life! 👨‍🚒🚒✨

In Reception we have been reading “The Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle and exploring repeating patterns. 🌟Happy Tuesday 🌟

Today in Willows, we began our new subtraction unit in maths.
The children were using physical apparatus (bears, cubes, tens/ones) to take away.
This is the first step before using the minus symbol to write their own subtraction number sentences and counting back on the number line/square.
