This morning, some of Elms have taken part in a workshop from Show Racism the Red Card. The session started with a discussion around DNA and how every one is different before focussing on what racism is. The children decided if a scenario was showing racism or not and then found out what they should do if they hear or see racism happening. All of the children were excellent in the session with their listening skills and participation. The rest of Elms will have their workshop this afternoon. Great work Elms!

The moment our year 6 leavers in Oaks have been waiting for has finally arrived...Our leavers’ hoodies are here!

Oak’s year 6 were absolutely over the moon and the smiles said it all.

They were so proud they refused to take them off, even in this afternoon’s scorching heat.

This is a huge milestone for a fantastic group of children as they begin their final chapter with us.

Birches have been very creative again this week! We looked at the work of artist Alfred Wallis, who painted pictures of things familiar to him from his life in Cornwall. We all used oil pastels to replicate his style - either a scenic picture of the Cornish coastal landscape, or a close-up life drawing of a shell.

Fanatic writing in Oaks

Oaks have been busy producing some truly brilliant pieces of writing. From imaginative descriptive pieces to their own class podcasts and an impressive non‑chronological report on the yellow‑spotted lizard from Holes, their creativity has been incredible.

Their two‑page spreads were a joy to see — full of colour, diagrams and thoughtful detail. Such pride in their work and such a pleasure to celebrate.

Elms have been reading The Creakers in English. Today, we wrote some speeches as though we were Lucy. We persuaded the children of Whiffington Town to help save the missing grownups by tidying up and letting the sunshine into the Woleb. We then shared our speeches with the class. Great work Elms!
